Baja Breeze Vellum Butterfly
I have been spending a lot of time with my family and have a couple of days home. (This means I can get in a little stamping!) I will be heading up to Canada Saturday with my daughter and her family so we can spend time with my son and his family at their vacation home. All the kids love to spend time together biking, hiking, fishing, etc. My daughter, daughter-in-law and I will definitely go picking huckleberries. We have been told the bushes are full of them. We WILL be watching out for the bears. We always see lots of them up there.
Today's card was made for the StampTV Sketch Challenge hosted by my friend Sue Walsh (Tillymint). She is one of Guest Spotlight Designers this month on StampTV. You can see the details about the sketch challenge here. Her sample card is so beautiful I had to work on this challenge.
This card measures 7 1/2 x 4 inches. I used some SU Baja Breeze designer paper for the background. The Butterfly is from Gina K's "Take Flight" stamp set. It was embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder on Vellum Card Stock. I used the Baja Breeze reinker and and my Niji water pen to color it on the back side.
The flowers were cut out using a Cuttlebug die. The color is Baja Breeze. To cut the circle, I placed two circle Nestabilities on the card stock to cut out the ring then embossed it before removing from the die. The ribbon is from SU and the Creamy Carmel fern leaves were cut out with a Martha Stewart punch. Some light turquoise rhinestones were added to the flower centers, the butterfly, and on the card.
I really enjoyed making this card. I hope you will go over to StampTV and join in on this challenge. You will have a chance to win a stamp set of your choice from Gina K Designs.

This is absolutely gorgeous Selma!
I agree ... WOW ... love the card and the butterfly is fantastic. I'm going to have to try embossing one too. Again WOW.
Selma,
I love the butterfly, and the vellum technique is so very pretty. I like the blue and white checked pattern paper you chose, and the entire card is just beautiful.....I just wish I could come up with such good ideas like you do. You must have a very creative mind.
Great job.
Dianna
