Poinsettia Window

Poinsettia flowers always create such beautiful Christmas cards. This is the card I designed for my Susan's Garden Club Design Team Blog Post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog.   I designed this card with flowers using Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Garden Notes Small Poinsettia dies.

Here is how the card was created.
This is a 6x6 inch card with a piece of the Els van de Burgt Studio Through the Lens - Wood Series card stock attached to the front.

Use Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Small Poinsettia die sets, and white Vellum, to die cut enough petals to create three poinsettia. For these flowers there are two large poinsettia petal layers and two small poinsettia layers. When you combine the petals from the two different die sets, you don't necessarily need to use the small individual petals. It is all a matter of preference on how you want to build your poinsettia. One of the reasons I like having both of the poinsettia die sets, is that you can use the large petals, from the larger poinsettia, for the green petals under the smaller poinsettia.

Garden Notes - Small Poinsettia

Garden Notes - Poinsettia 6 piece set

To shape the petals, use Susan's Flower Tool Kit. Use the leaf tool to draw veins down each petal. You do not need to press real hard on the vellum to see the veins.

To make the flowers "elegant," use a glue pen and add glue around the cut edge of each petal. Dip the petal in Champagne Gold Silk Microfine Glitter. Work with one petal at a time. Set the petals aside to dry. Once they are dry, be sure to rub the glitter to bring out the beautiful shine. Assemble the flowers, then add Susan's Prills to the center.

Use Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pinecone dies to die cut 10 to 12 pine boughs, using white card stock.  Use Els van de Burgt Studio Candle die set to die cut four pine boughs. Using both sets gives you a variety of texture in the arrangement.

Use Susan's Garden Notes Carolina Window & Shutters die set to die cut a window out of light tan card stock (a color that will match the wood grain in the background design paper). Back the window with a piece of Shimmer Sheetz. You can use either the Yellow Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz or use the yellow portion of the Light Pink Iridescent Shimmer Sheetz.

Use the Els van de Burgt Studio Entwined Oval die set to die cut the largest Entwined Oval. Use a piece of white card stock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive attached to the top. Peel off the liner and add Champagne Gold Silk Microfine Glitter to it. Be sure to polish well with your fingers.

Use the Dotted Scallop Oval that is slightly larger than the Entwined Oval (this is the largest Oval) to die cut an ivory cardstock oval. Attach the Entwined Oval to the Ivory Oval and center the window, placing close to the top, inside the ovals.  Attach this to the center of the card front.

Arrange the Whitepine Boughs along the bottom of the ovals. Next add the poinsettia, using dimensional glue dots. Add the smaller pine bough below the poinsettia. For a little extra embellishment, I added a few flat backed gold beads.

Use the Els van de Burgt Studio Fitted Frames 1 - Lace Rectangles die set to die cut two corners. Use white card stock with Clear Double  Sided  Adhesive on top then add Champagne Gold Silk Microfine Glitter. Attach to the upper corners.

The Vellum poinsettia create a very elegant flower, that combine so well with the Champagne Gold Glitter and Shimmer Sheetz backed window.

Sometimes I Just Look Up

This is the card I designed for my Quietfire Creations Design Team Blog Post.    I used Suzanne's beautiful, new, Sometimes I Just Look Up rubber stamp.  Just reading this makes you smile, doesn't it!

Sometimes I Just Look Up - Mounted

When I first saw this stamp, I imagined creating a card with it that included butterflies.  In my stash, I had a piece of design paper with butterflies, and of course flowers, to complete this card.

The verse was stamped onto a piece of white card stock, then die cut with a Dotted Scallop Oval die.  Before removing it from the die, light pink ink was sponged around the edges.

To create a dimensional butterfly, the butterfly die from the Els van de Burgt Studio die set Small Butterfly was used.  A piece of tan dotted design paper was used for the bottom layer to match one of the butterflies in the design paper.

The flowers in the design paper were duplicated by using Susan's Garden Notes Rose 1 die set.  The smaller rose petals from this die set were used. To complete the card, one pink corner was die cut and added to the upper left side.

The beautiful stamp used can be purchased from

Merry Christmas

I have something a little different today.  I had a request for a Christmas card with an "antique" look.  This is what I designed.

Three layers of card stock were attached to the front of this 6x6 inch card.  The edges of the two top layers were distressed.  Using a stamp from the Joset Designs Winter Sentiments stamp set, light snowflakes were stamped on the top beige card stock and the edges sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink.

The Els van de Burgt Studio Holly Flourish was die cut, out of Kraft card stock, shaped with Susan's Flower Tool Kit, then Viva Inka Gold Metallic added.  Red berries were added with a red embellisher.

Using Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Garden Notes Small Poinsettia die sets, two flowers were created out of Kraft Card stock. (Real poinsettia do not come in this color.) They were shaped with Susan's Flower Tool Kit then also edged with the Inka Gold.

Using Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone die set, a few ivory pines were die cut and three pine cones made.

The A Way With Words Merry Christmas 2 die set was used for the sentiment.  It was die cut twice using a thin cardboard. The two pieces were glued together for dimension.

The Flowers were attached as shown adding a thin gold cording under the lower edge of the large poinsettia.

I hope this card has the feel of an "antique look"!

You can create this card with the following supplies from Elizabeth Craft Designs:

Garden Notes Small Poinsettia
Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pinecone
A Way With Words - Merry Christmas 2

Let It Snow

A lot of us have already received the first snowfall.  I don't like to drive in the snow, but the countryside is always so beautiful when covered with snow.

Today I wanted to use the Els van de Burgt Studio Snowflake dies to create a wintery scene, along with the A Way With Words Let It Snow die set.

When going through Susan's CountryScapes Critter die sets, I thought this polar bear would be the most likely critter to really love the snow.

To create a frame, I used the Els van de Burgt Studio largest Stitched Square die set and die cut a white square.  I wanted to cut a "window" in the top portion of this square, so I used the third largest Stitched Rectangle die set to die cut it. I used a rectangle die so that there would be a solid space at the bottom to add the sentiment.  Using the same Stitched Rectangle  die, a light blue rectangle was die cut.  It was embossed with a dot embossing folder.  To put some glitter around the blue rectangle, I used the 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive around the outside edge.  Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter was added to the tape.  By die cutting the rectangle in the white Stitched Square Frame, I could attached the Stitched Rectangle inside the open area to achieve a flat background.

Using the CountryScapes Critters 4 die set, the bear was die cut using a light ivory colored cardstock.  I wanted him to be a slightly different color than the snowflakes.  Using a fine line marker, the nose, mouth, eye, and toe nails were drawn in.  Using a sharp lead pencil, fine lines were drawn into the scored areas of the die cut to help them show up.

Using white card stock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on one side, the snowflakes were die cut and glittered with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

The A Way With Words - Let It Snow was die cut using a piece of white card stock that had Clear Double Sided Adhesive attached to the top.  Light Brass Silk Microfine Glitter was added.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  A light blue piece of cardstock was cut slightly smaller than the front of the card, beveled around the edges using a Score Board, then attached to the front of the card.  The white Stitched Square frame was attached then the embossed small blue Stitched Rectangle glued inside the white rectangle opening.

The bear was attached at the bottom of the blue rectangle then all the snowflakes added.  Clear Glitter Peel Off Sticker Dots were added to the snowflakes.  The sentiment was attached to the bottom of the card.

To complete the inside of the card, two glittered snowflakes were added.  Instead of getting all stressed out during the holiday, I always like to take time to delight in the little joys of the Season.  Quietfire Creations had the perfect stamp to relay this message.

Christmas Waves a Magic Wand

We had our first snowfall yesterday and it inspired me to create this Christmas card.

I used the Quietfire Creations Christmas Waves a Magic Wand rubber stamp.  Isn't that a beautiful verse for a Christmas card!

To create a dimensional scene, Els van de Burgt Studio Dotted Scallop Oval and Fitted Oval frame die sets were used to die cut an opening in pieces of 6x6 inch card stock.  At the bottom of the Fitted Frame Oval, two snow banks were added.  They were die cut using Karen Burniston's Outdoor Edges die.  A Gold Line Peel Off Sticker was used to line the die cut edge of the Fitted Oval Frame.

A piece of vellum was die cut to fit behind the die cut Fitted Oval.  Three Susan's CountryScapes Woods 4 trees were die cut and glued to the front of the vellum.  This piece was attached to the back of the Fitted  Oval frame.  On the card base, three more CountryScapes Woods 4 trees were attached so they would appear further back in the forest.  The vellum was to represent fog between the trees. The snow added to the trees was created by using DecoArt Snow-Tex paste.

Using Susan's CountryScapes Critters 6 die set, the deer was die cut and color sponged on.  Pine boughs were die cut using Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pinecone die set and a small red poinsettia made using Garden Notes Small Poinsettia die set.

The Oval layers were attached to the front of the card with dimensional tape between layers.  The Quietfire verse was stamped, then fussy cut around the words and attached to the lower right corner.  The deer was attached on the outside of the ovals using dimensional tape.

Gold Peel Off Line Stickers were added around the outside frame, then the Pine boughs and Poinsettia added.

You can complete this card with the following products:

CountryScapes Horse

Today I am taking a little break from creating Christmas cards and have a country scene using the Horse from Susan's CountryScapes Critters 6 die set.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  I used a piece of the Soft Finish White Cardstock and sponged on the background: blue at the top, lavender under the blue and green across the bottom.  Before sponging, I attached a round circle with temporary tape on the card, and sponged around it, to create a sun.  A punch was used for this circle.  The mask was pulled off and the cardstock with the punched hole was placed over the circle and was sponged with two different colors of yellow ink, to color the sun.

Using Susan's Evergreen Groove Stencil, a few pine trees were sponged on the right side.  Using Susan's CountryScapes Woods 1 and Backyard 3 die sets, two trees were die cut and colored with markers.

The CountryScapes Kentucky 3-Rail Horse Fence die set was used to die cut three fences to fit across the card.

The Horse was die cut using CountryScapes Critters 6 die set and colored by sponging on Distress Inks.  A marker was used to draw on the mane and down the tail.

The dark tree was attached to the background.  Next the three fence die cuts were arranged to go across the card.  The light colored tree was placed on the left side of the card and overhanging branches trimmed off.

Using Susan's CountryScapes Cloud/Grass die set, three grass borders were die cut.  I used white card stock and sponged on two shades of green ink.  Using the Elizabeth Fine Pointed Scissors, each blade of grass was cut to create thinner blades.  The three layers were attached at the bottom of the card.

The horse was then attached.  After the card was finished, I wished I had used Susan's Earth & Sky Stencil to add clouds, but it was to late to do that at this point. In order to add clouds, I used the Joset Designs Rainbow Sky die set and die cut the two clouds to add to the upper right side of the card.

You can complete this card with the following products from Elizabeth Craft Designs:

CountryScapes Critters 6
CountryScapes Backyard 3
CountryScapes Woods 1
CountryScapes Critters 6
CountryScapes Kentucky 3-Rail Horse Fence
CountryScapes Cloud/Grass

Christmas Cardinal

I love creating my own Christmas cards using Susan's Garden dies.  For this card I used her Garden Notes Garden Birds 1, Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone, and Garden Notes Small Poinsettia die sets.  Also used were the Els van de Burgt Studio Fitted Frames, and Holly Flourish.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  Using the largest and  third largest Fitted Frames dies, 2 white (open) frames were die cut.  Using the second largest die in this set, two vellum ovals were die cut.  One of the vellum ovals was embossed with a dotted embossing folder.

A piece of red card stock was attached to the front of a white card front.  The third largest Fitted Frame die was used to die cut an oval in the front of the card.

One of the vellum ovals was glued to the back of each open die cut ovlas.  On the front of the oval without the embossed dots, small die cut snowflakes were glued on.  The oval frame with the embossed dots was glued over the one with the snowflakes.  The vellum oval was glued over the oval opening in the card front.  By having the snowflakes in between the vellum sheets and then attached over the opening in the card, it helped the snowflakes show up.

A lot of Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs were die cut and arranged at the bottom of the oval.  A few more pine boughs were die cut to use at the top of the card.

The Cardinal from the Garden Notes Garden Birds 1 die set was die cut using white card stock.  It was colored with markers.  Attach the bird in the center of the pine boughs.

Using the Garden Notes Small Poinsettia die set, create one small red poinsettia.  Fill the center of it with Susan's Prills,

Create two pinecones using Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone die set.

Die cut to Holly Flourishes.  Shape the holly leaves using Susan's Flower Tool Kit.

Arrange Holly Flourish, a few pine boughs, small poinsettia, and pine cones at the top of the oval frame.

Using Gold Christmas Peel Off Stickers for the sentiment in the center of the oval.  Use the gold Peel Off Sticker branches along the side of the frame.  Add small Gold Peel Off Sticker Corners to the top corners.

To complete the card, I used White Texture Paste for the snow and a few red glitter balls from the craft store.

To complete this project, you can purchase the following products from Elizabeth Craft Designs:

Garden Notes Garden Birds 1
Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone
Garden Notes Small Poinsettia
Prills

Winter Scene

I have designed a card using Susan Tierney-Cockburn's CountryScapes die sets. I don't think any of us are quite ready for snow, but it I'm sure it won't be long. Here is how I created this card.
  1.  This is a 6 x 6 inch card. Cover the front with a slightly smaller piece of light gray card stock.
  2.   Die cut one Fox using Susan's CountryScapes Critters 2 die set. Color using markers.
  3.  Use the CountryScapes Woods 1 die set to die cut two trees. Just use the main tree die - not the extra branches
  4.  Use the CountryScapes Critters 1 die set to die cut two Cardinals. Color them with markers.
  5. Use the CountryScapes Country Fence die to die cut two fences. Use one fence to cut off the vertical fence posts. Glue these over the fence rails. This gives a little dimension to the fence. Color using brown and black markers. When drawing in the black lines on the fence, make them vertical on the posts and horizontal on the rails (the same lengthwise direction as the grain in the logs).
  6. Use the CountryScapes Backyard 1 die set to die cut the Wagon Wheel. Color with markers.
  7. Use the A Way With Words - 4 Seasons die set to die cut the "Winter" sentiment out of white card stock.
  8. Use Karen Burniston's Outdoor Edges die set to cut 4 snow banks, and die cut one edge that has the pine trees.
  9. To assemble the card, start by attaching the Winter sentiment to the upper left side of the card.
  10.  Attach the snow banks so they are alternating as shown. Start with the tree edge and work your way down.  When attaching these pieces, only add glue to the sides and bottom leaving the top open so you can tuck in the other die cut pieces.
  11.  Cut the die cut fence into two pieces, making the piece that will attach to the right side of the card just a little longer than the second piece that will attach to the left side. Attach the fence behind the second snow bank from the bottom.
  12. Cut the bottom off one of the trees and attach it so it appears to be a bare bush along the side of the fence on the left side. Attach the tall tree in front of the fence on the right side.
  13. Attach the Wagon Wheel on the left side so it appears to be leaning again the fence post.
  14. Attach the Fox at the bottom of the card right on top of the edge of the snow. Lightly draw in little foot prints that go across the bottom of the card to show his tracks.
  15. Add the Cardinals. Place one on the right fence post and one in the tall tree.
  16. Add falling snowflakes to the scene with Wedding Dress irRESISTible Pico Embellisher or any glittery-glue or sparkly pen.

A Masculine Card

Do you have a hard time thinking of how to create masculine cards.  Today I have used the A Way With Words - Noel die, Susan's CountryScapes Critters 6, CountryScapes Kentucky 3-Rail Horse Fence, Els van de Burgt Studio 5 Part Pine, Entwined Ovals and Fitted Ovals to design this masculine card.

I used a piece of the Dark Chocolate Soft Finish Cardstock for my card base.  The card stock is 12x12, cut in half and scored down the middle of a 6x12 piece to create a 6x6 inch card.  The card stock is colored on one side and white on the other, which makes it nice for having a light background on the inside to include a greeting.  All the Elizabeth Craft Design Soft Finish Cardstock is two sided.  If you haven't used this beautiful card stock yet, I am sure you will love it!

The largest Entwined Oval was die cut using Dark Chocolate Card stock and the beige background was die cut using the same size Fitted Oval die.   This Oval was embossed using the Sprig Embossing Folder.   When die cutting the Entwined Oval, a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive was added to the back of the cardstock.  This makes it very easy to attach it to the background piece.  The A Way With Words Noel was die cut using Gold Metallic Cardstock.

Today I decided to experiment with something.  I used a bright green metallic card stock to die cut the 5 Part Pine.  A piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive was attached over the metallic side then the tree was die cut.  The covering on the adhesive was pulled off and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter was added to all the pieces.  This gave the tree a very pretty sparkle.  It is fun to see different effects when covered with the Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

Using the CountryScapes Critters 6 die set, the deer was die cut using gold metallic card stock.  No coloring was needed, but I did punch two small black circles for the eyes.  The CountryScapes Kentucky 3-Rail Horse Fence was die cut using white card stock and color sponged on.  I used a pencil to add the highlights to the fence rails.

Using Susan's CountryScapes Grass/Cloud die set, the grass was die cut.  Small lengths were cut off to go around the bottom of the fence posts.  I doubled (layered) two small pieces for each post.

Karen Burniston's Outdoor Edges dies set was used to die cut a small "snow" border for the bottom of the card.  The  Els van de Burgt Studio Corners 1 die set was used to die cut two gold metallic corners.

This was a quick and easy masculine card to create and will mail nicely in a regular 6x6 inch envelope.

To create this card, you can purchase the following products from Elizabeth Craft Designs:

Joy

Today I am posting the card I designed for my Quietfire Creations Design Team Blog Post.  It is a card using two beautiful stamps designed by Suzanne Cannon from Quietfire Creations.

Flourished Ornament - Set of 4 Stamps - Mounted

I fell in love with the Joy stamp which is in the Quietfire Creations Flourished Ornament stamp set.  Isn't it beautiful!

To show off this beautiful stamp, I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs Dotted Scalloped Oval die set and die cut one of each size ovlas.  The ovals were layered, using dimensional tape, so that the edge of each die cut matched at the top of the largest oval.  These ovals are very dimensional.  Before attaching the smallest oval, I used VersaMark and Ultra Fine Gold Embossing Power to stamp the sentiment.  This oval set was attached in the middle of the card at the upper edge.

Two flowers were created using Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Garden Notes Small Poinsettia die sets.  Ten pine boughs were die cut using Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone die set.  The poinsettias were die cut using white card stock and a brush dipped in bright pink reinker, was brushed down the center of each petal.   The poinsettias and pine boughs were arranged at the bottom of the oval die cuts.  Gold cording and beads were added around the arrangement.  The green background was outlined using Elizabeth Craft Design Gold Peel Off Line Stickers.  Two Gold Peel Off Sticker Corners were added at the top.  There were some gold pieces left when the Gold Corner Stickers were pulled off the sticker sheet.  I used a few of these pieces under the sentiment.

Christmas Waves a Magic Wand - Mounted

The Quietfire Creations Christmas Waves a Magic Wand stamp is one of my favorite to use on Christmas cards.  This sentiment is perfect for anyone.  This is the stamp I used on the inside of this card.

In keeping with the ovals on the front of the card, the two largest Dotted Scallop Ovals were die cut.  The Christmas Waves a Magic Wand sentiment was stamped using VersaMark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.

I always add an extra piece of card stock to the inside of my cards that is slightly smaller than 6x6 inches.  A Gold Peel Off Line Sticker was added to the bottom of the piece.  To match the front of the card, two more Gold Peel Off Corner Stickers were added inside.

Be sure to go over to the Quietfire Creations Store to find just the perfect stamp or die to create your holiday cards.

Merry Christmas Holly

It is always fun to decorate with Holiday Holly.  Today I designed a card using Susan's Garden Notes Holiday Holly & Berry die set.  Also used are Susan's Garden Notes Garden Birds 1, Els van de Burgt Studio Entwined Ovals, Corners 1 and the beautiful A Way With Words Merry Christmas die set.

For the background, a piece of the Els van de Burgt Studio, Through the Lens Wood Series Cardstock was used.  Two Entwined Ovals were die cut using Gold Shimmer Sheetz.  The back of the Shimmer Sheetz was attached to a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive so they would be easy to attach.  Attach the Entwined Ovals at the top of the card.  Red Glitter Peel Off Sticker Dots were places on the dots of the Entwined Ovals.

Using Susan's Garden Notes Holiday Holly die set, the holly leaves were die cut 5 times, using white card stock.  To draw the veins in the leaves, Susan's Flower Tool Kit was used.  If you want to create beautiful flowers and leaves, Susan's Flower Tool Kit is a must have kit to own.  The leaves were sponged with Twisted Citron Distress Ink then sponged with Memento Bamboo Leaves around the edges.  The leaves were then rubbed with Vaseline to make them shiny.  You can watch Susan's Garden YouTube Holiday Holly & Berries Video at this LINK.

There is a branch in the Garden Notes Holiday Holly & Berry die set, but I wanted to create a longer holly branch.  I used Susan's CountryScapes Woods 1 tree for this branch.  The Holly Leaves were attached to the branch allowing some of the ends of the branch showing.

The bird was die cut using Susan's Garden Notes Garden Birds 1 die set.  Distress Inks were sponged on to color.

Using Glossy Black Card Stock, the A Way With Words Merry Christmas 2 sentiment was die cut.  Also Glossy Black Card Stock was used to die cut the Els van de Burgt Studio Corners.  I attached Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the back of the Glossy Black Card stock before die cutting the sentiment and corners.

You can create this card with the following products from Elizabeth Craft Designs:

Garden Notes Holiday Holly & Berries
Birds 1
Entwined Circles
A Way With Words - Merry Christmas 1
Corners 1
Through the Lens - Wood Series card stock

Joy to the World

The temperatures are beginning to drop and it won’t be long before some of us see snow.  Today I am sharing the card I created for my design team post for the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog.

The dies used include:   Els van de Burgt Studio 5 Part Pine, Stitched Ovals and Entwined Ovals and a piece of the Through The Lens – Wood Cardstock.  To embellish this scene, Susan’s Garden Notes Small Poinsettia, Whitepine Bough & Pinecone and CountryScapes Critters 1 die sets were used.  For the snowbanks, Karen Burniston’s Outdoor Edges die set plus her Holiday Clear Stamp Set were used.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  Start by attaching the Through The Lens Cardstock to the front – adding the paper so the knot in the wood design is on the right side of the card front.

Die cut two “snowbanks” using the Outdoor Edges die set and attach them to the bottom of the card, as shown, leaving the top edge without glue.  You will be attaching the Stitched Oval partially behind this snowbank.

Use the 5 Part Pine die set to die cut all five pieces, using white card stock.  Use a green marker to color each section of the tree green, except along the lower edge of the branches.  Use uneven stroke lines along this edge because you want it to look like snow is clinging to the bottom of each layer.  If you want, you can add a texture paste along the edges of the branches like I did.  Set aside to dry.

Use the fourth largest oval in the Stitched Oval die set to die cut an oval from beige card stock.

Use the small die in the Entwined Ovals die set to die cut one oval.  Use Antique Linen Distress Ink to sponge on color so it will stand out when attached to the Stitched Oval.  Tuck and attach this oval down behind the snow bank on the left side.

Using black ink and the “Joy to the World” stamp from the Holiday Clear Stamp Set stamp the sentiment inside the top portion of the beige Oval.  I used the Wedding Dress irRESISTible Pico Embellisher to create snow inside the Entwined Circle.

Use the CountryScapes Critters 1 die set to die cut two little bunnies and one cardinal.  Use red markers to color the bird and outline the edge of the bunnies with a light gray marker.  Add a black eye to each bunny.  Attach the cardinal to the top of the “y” in Joy and attach the bunnies as shown.

Attach the 5 Part Pine at the bottom of the card, slightly inside the left of the Stitched Oval.

Create two red poinsettias using Susan’s Garden Notes Small Poinsettiadie set.  Add Prills to the center of each flower.

Die cut three pine boughs using the Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pinecone die set.  Attach the branches to the upper right corner of the card.  I added snow to the pine boughs and down in the snowbanks.

Attach a Gold Peel Off Sticker Corner to both upper corners of the card.

Attach the Poinsettias over the Whitepine Boughs.

Christmas

Good Morning Friends.  Today I wanted to use one of the new Els van de Burgt Studio Background dies to create a Christmas card.  I chose the Heart Background.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  To do something different, I used the Els van de Burgt Studio Second largest Stitched Rectangle die to die cut an opening on the left side of the card front.  (My card measures 12" x 6" and is scored down the center to create a 6x6 inch card.  The opening is die cut into the front panel of this card.)

The Heart Background was die cut using white card stock.  It was glued to the back of the die cut opening.  Using the second largest Stitched Rectangle and the third largest Stitched Rectangle, which were taped to a piece of white card stock,  a narrow frame was die cut to go around the opening over the Heart Background - on the front of the card.  This finished off the edges nicely.  Gold Peel Off Sticker Lines were added around this narrow frame to help it stand out.

Using a piece of white card stock that was covered in Clear Double Sided Adhesive, I used the largest Stitched Rectangle to die cut another rectangle that will fit behind the Heart Background.  The die was placed on top of the adhesive covering, die cut, then covered with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  It was attached over the back of the die cut opening for the Heart Background.  Can you see the glitter behind the hearts?

Using Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia and Garden Notes Small Poinsettia die sets, enough pieces were die cut to create three poinsettias.  Ivory card stock was used for the flowers.  The "leaves" under the flowers were lightly sponged using Bundled Sage Distress Ink.  The flowers were shaped using Susan's Flower Tool Kit.  Susan's Prills were added to the center of the flowers.

Using the Els van de Burgt Studio Candle die set, the candle was die cut using glossy card stock.  The dripping wax was die cut with a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive over white card stock so it could also be glittered with the Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  The Flame was die cut and also glittered using Silk Microfine Glitters.

In the Candle die set, there is also a die for the pine branches.  Nine branches were die cut, using white card stock, and sponged with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

The Els van de Burgt Studio Berry Branch was die cut using red card stock.  The stems were colored using a black marker then the berries were covered using irRESISTible Pico Embellisher - Love Letter.

The card was assembled as shown.  I had a few gold Christmas glitter balls that I attached around the flowers.  (These were on a Christmas Pick available at the craft store.)

To finish the card, a Gold Peel Off Sticker Corner was added, and a Gold Christmas Peel Off Sticker added to the lower right corner.  On the same sheet as the Christmas sticker were little bells.  These were added hanging down from the corner sticker.  There is a left over piece from the Gold Corner Peel Off Sticker that resembled a flame.  This was placed in the center of the glittered flame on the candle.

I hope you enjoyed my project.  The following products can be purchased to create this card from Elizabeth Craft Designs:
