Cute Snowman

 Snowmen always make me smile!   This cute snowman is an old stamp I have had for years, by Inkadinkado, but I think he might be my favorite.  I decided to frame him in the Marianne Design CR1261 frame.  For the embossed background, I used the new Marianne Design DF3405 embossing folder.  The embossing folder did not cover the entire portion of the top of the card, so down the left side, I used my Scor-Pal to draw three diagonal lines to fill the empty space.  Three pearls were placed at the top. 

The Marianne Design CR1261 frame is open in the center.  I stamped the snowman on a separate piece of card stock and cut around him to fit under the open frame.  The frame was attached over the stamped image with dimensional tape, then the entire frame attached to the card with  more dimensional tape.  Glitter was added to the edges of the frame and to the snowflakes in the stamped design.

The "Snow Buddies are the Best!" sentiment is from the Stampendous "Build A Snowman" stamp set.  The "Merry Christmas" sentiment is from a Hero Arts Poly Clear Christmas Sentiment stamp set.

Cute Boxes

 My friend Pat and I worked on creating some cute little Martha Stewart "Treat Bags" (they are the little white box).   We designed the box around that cute little chicken stamp.  The stamp is by Stampendous and called "Hat Chick" (487620).  For the outdoor scene, we used the Cheery Lynn "Garden Gate" die (B124) on the front, and the Cheery Lynn "Victorian Picket Fence" (B123) to go around the box.  In front of it, we added the Cheery Lynn "Grass Border" (B126).   For the flowers we used the Memory Box "Blooming Violets" (98504) dies.  The little butterflies are from the Memory Box "Butterfly Delights" (98130).

 Here you can see the back of the box. It is so fun and easy to dress up a little box  to hold a little treat for someone special, using dies.  We put small chocolate eggs in our boxes.

Christmas Candle

Have you ever sat down and started working on a card having no idea what you were really going to do?  That is what happened to me today.  I received some new products this weekend and the first thing I wanted to "play" with was the Tim Holtz "Tattered Poinsettia".  I love this die.  The poinsettia die  has three layers and a center.  I die it using a burgundy colored card stock.  Around the edges of the petals I sponged on some "Walnut Stain" Distress Ink.  This made the edges stand out more.  However, I wanted to add some "glitz" to them so I used the Ranger "Adirondack Metallic Acrylic Paint Dabber" in Gold to highlight each petal.  To give it an  "aged" look, I decided to wrinkle the petals.  I misted them with water then creased each petal down the center then kind of wrinkled each one.  They were dried with the heat gun before continuing.  Next I decided I needed some more glitz so I pressed each petal down on a "VersaMark" Dazzle" ink pad (which gives it a shimmer) then sprinkled on "Wow! Neutral Ultra Shimmer Embossing Glitter".  I love the look of the flower in real life.  All this work gave it a vintage look.

For the background, I used one of the new stamps Joan sent.  It is a Christmas background from Stampendous.  Look at all the wonderful sentiments on it.  It was stamped using VersaFine "Vintage Sepia" ink on the top portion of this 5.5" x 6" card.  To add color to the card, I sponged on Ranger's "Aged Mahogany Distress Ink" then used the Adirondack Gold Paint Dabber to add gold around the edges.  Since I was in the mood to try new things, I used the VersaMark Dazzle Pad to add ink over the "sentiment" background then clear embossed it.  I like the way it turned out.  

I used one of the new eBosser embossing folders for some texture along the bottom.  These folders are super great.  They are 8.5" x 11" so you can emboss an entire sheet of card stock and use as much as you need.  I only needed a small piece of this "Delicate Dots" embossed piece. 

Across the top of the embossed piece, I attached one of the Cheery Lynn "Expandable Tiny Borders".  Both the embossed piece and the border were sponged with the "Aged Mahogany" Distress Ink.

Behind the Tattered Poinsettia, I add one of the Marianne Design candles.  It was sponged with Aged Mahogany, highlighted with the Adirondack Gold paint then pressed into the Versamark Dazzle Ink pad and sprinkled with the Wow embossing glitter.  The same technique was used on the Cheery Lynn Holly Flourish and Holly leaves.
