Before I tell about my card today I first want to thank all of you who visited my blog yesterday and commented on that Heartfelt Creations pink and white card.  I was very happy to receive an email from SCS this morning telling me it has made the "Favorites" list.  That was exciting!   Many of you have emailed me and asked for the template for that card.  After a lot of research, I found it on SCS and it is called a "Center Step" card.  Here is the link for the tutorial.

Today I created a card with another LaBlanche stamp called "Foxglove" LB1063.  You can order this stamp from Joan's Gardens.  Have you seen all the new LaBlanche stamps that Joan just posted on her blog?  They are gorgeous.  Later Joan will be posting the new LaBlanche Christmas line and I can hardly wait!   They are fabulous -- sorry I have to make you wait to see them.  

When I saw this beautiful LaBlanche foxglove stamp on Joan's blog, I immediately thought it would be pretty with "Flower Soft" on the flowers, so that is what I have done today.  The image was stamped into an embossed frame created with the Marianne Design DS0908 embossing folder. The paper used is the LaBlanche Specialty Stamping Paper. The embossed piece was attached to a dark purple piece that was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder to the right side of a 5.5" square card.  The image was colored with Copic markers then a mixture of lavender and violet Flower Soft was added.  A pretty piece of trim was added to the left side of the card.

As you know, all products I use can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.

Spring Cardinals Shadow Box

This is a 6" square shadow box. As you know, I love to create shadow box cards and these two cardinals seemed perfect for this type of card.  Green design paper was attached to both the top and inside of the box.  Spellbinder "Beaded Ovals" die was used to create the opening in the top.  A green marker was used to outline each of the scallops to give it a finished appearance.  The same Beaded Oval was used for the inside of the card.  The Heartfelt Creations "Rustic Bridge (684E)" was stamped on the Oval and colored with Copic Markers.  Pink Flower Soft was added to the trees.  (I added the pink Flower Soft to create the feeling that those are the flowering trees the birds are really sitting in.)
Both cardinals from the "HCPC 3388 Spring Cardinals PreCut Set" were stamped, colored with Copic Markers and cut out with scissors.  Additional cardinals and posy flowers were stamped, colored, and cut out with matching dies, then attached with dimensional dots. Soft Yellow Flower Soft was added to the center of each flower.  Spellbinders corners from the "Parisian Motifs" dies were added.  The side borders were created with the Martha Stewart "String Lace" punch.

Christmas in the Country

This is another one of my Design Team projects for Heartfelt Creations.  I love working with HFC stamps.  They always stamp so well and one of the most exciting things about this line of stamps is that they now have matching die cuts, made by Spellbinders, for many of the stamps, so you can create beautiful dimensional cards/projects.

I love this scene. The name of this stamp is "Christmas In The Country".  It was stamped with black Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. A silver metallic pen was used on the mailbox then Polar White Flower Soft and glitter added for the snow.  It was layered onto forest green card stock.  The white card is 5.5 inches square. 

The poinsettia is from the HCPC 2291 Regal Poinsettia 2 PreCut set. It was stamped twice with VersaMark on red card stock,  and clear embossed, then cut out with the Nestabilities "Blossom 2" die. It was attached with dimensionals.  The center was gold embossed on gold cs.

Sending Sunshine

Doesn't this look like a beautiful place to sit and relax!  This card was created using Theresa Momber's "Sending Sunshine" stamp set, available from Gina K Designs.  I decided to create a scene using four stamps in this set.  First the tree was stamped on white card stock then the sky was sponged on.  The tree was colored with Copic markers.  I wanted to make the tree dimensional so l used purple Flower Soft on the flowers.  I love how this looks.

Next I cut a piece of Basic Grey design paper layered onto white card stock and cut the opening using an oval Nestability.  This was attached over the tree using dimensionals to give the card depth.  The bench, bird bath and butterflies were stamped and cut out then added with dimensionals.  The water in the bird bath has diamond glaze added to it.

The bench and bird bath looked like they were just "floating" on the front of the card so I used  scissors to create layered grass.  This seemed to ground these items.

This is a beautiful set by Theresa.  There are eleven images and five greetings so there are lots of possibilities for creating pretty scenes or to just use the stamps individually.

 

Another SKATING BY Penguin

I love this digital penguin by Nina May.  This is the card that was posted yesterday on the  TMITA blog.  I thought I would post it over here on my blog today and tell you how I made it.  If you haven't already seen it, be sure to scroll down to the card posted yesterday,   to see how I created three different size penguins with this image.   There is so much you can do with digital images and I had so much fun creating these cards.

To create the card above, I cut a piece of Basic Grey designer paper in a curve to look like a snow bank.  I used my Janome small sewing machine to zig zag  along the bottom of the dp.  I did sew a straight stitch around the edges of the dp but then decided to add the reflective silver ribbon along the outside edges. It doesn't look very shiny in the picture but it is.   The TMITA challenge this week was to use something reflective. 

To create the pond, I used a piece of shiny silver card stock and a piece of acetate and layered them together and cut out an oval shape with a Nestability.  I used a piece of Vellum tape to hold them together close to the edges, once cut out.  I colored the penguin with Copic markers and cut him out then attached him over the "pond".  Nina had some motion marks in the digital picture so I drew them on the acetate using a black marker and a ruler.  (These marks were gone once I cut the penguin out.)  I used Polar White Flower Soft around the edge of the pond and on the penguin's hat.  The SU greeting was stamped to complete the card.

I love how the camera picked up on the light in the pond when I took this picture.  It really shows off the reflective material, doesn't it!

Warmest Wishes

We have had rain all day today and taking a good picture of my card was a bit difficult.  Tonight I am posting a quick and easy card.  The stamps are from SU.  The background was embossed with the snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder and attached to  Forest Foliage CS.  The image was stamped with black Memento ink and colored with Copic markers.  The sky was chalked.  Nestabilities were used to cut out the design and the greeting.  Polar White Flower Soft, purchased from Joan's Gardens  was added to create the snowy scene and a few rhinestones added to complete the card.

Wisteria Flower Soft Topper

I have had a very busy three days and have not had time to spend stamping. I decided to post this pretty Flower Soft Topper I completed last week. I love working with Flower Soft and these Toppers are so easy to complete. I purchase my Flower Soft from Joan Fricker at Joan's Gardens.

A Flower Soft Project and Storage

Today my granddaughter came over and spent most of the day with me. We always love to stamp together. I received a package of Flower Soft I ordered from Joan Fricker from Joan's Gardens. I was excited to get all the new colors today. I love to organize and have things easy to work with. I found it hard to try and pull out a little Flower Soft when working on a card and getting it back in the bottle. I store all my embossing powders, glitters, etc in little storage drawers which makes it so easy to work with. I decided to store my Flower Soft in individual drawers too. Shannon helped me label the drawers with all the colors of Flower Soft then we emptied each jar into a drawer. Here are some pictures so you know what I am talking about.

I bought these drawers at Wal-Mart. I believe they are suppose to be used in the garage for screws, bolts and nuts but they are perfect in my craft room and not very expensive.

When I am using embossing powder, glitter, and now Flower Soft, I can just pull the little drawer out and put in on my work table. If my project doesn't fit in the drawer, I work in a Powder Pal tray, or on a piece of computer paper, to pour what ever I'm working with back into the drawer. I hope my organizational tip with help you if you are looking for an easy way to store these products.

Now I will tell you about the card I made today. This is a Flower Soft Topper card. These are like a post card. The design is already printed and you just need to add the Flower Soft to complete them. I added a few extras to it. When you purchase a package of these Toppers, you get 6 in each package. All you have to do is use Flower Soft Glue and apply the different colors of Flower Soft to each of the flowers. I added a little green to some of the leaves, but not much. It is very quick and easy and brings the card to life. I really love the texture it gives a card. I mounted it on a 5"x7" card. Shannon and I each made this bicycle card. Isn't it a beautiful picture. We completed the card a little differently but both cards turned out so pretty. I added a border down on the bottom made with a Martha Stewart punch, some butterflies to the picture, a gold brad to each wheel, and a small green bow.

I have more ideas for using Flower Soft for Fall cards that I will be posting them later. Using Flower Soft is so fun and very addictive!!!

Flower Soft Lilacs

I love working with Flower Soft. This lilac stamp is from PSX. I used Black Memento ink to stamp the design then used colored pencils and OMS to color. I then cut the design out. The background frame was cut with oval Nesties. I put the white piece on my ScorPal to create the grid. A white uni-ball Signo Gel Pen was used to put dots on each of the scallops of the nesties frame. The designer paper and Certainly Celery cardstock are from SU. The verse is from "So Hippy" from GinaK Designs. The nesties layers and design are each up on dimensionals. After I completed putting the card together, I added the pastel lavender Flower Soft. I just added small dots of the Flower Soft glue then pressed on the Flower Soft. So easy and so fun! I have received many emails since posting my "Springtime" card below asking about the Pastel Flower Soft kit from Flourishes. I wrote to Flourishes asking if they will be stocking this product again soon and they left a comment on that post. They have the Pastel Flower Soft kit on order so you should be able to purchase it soon from them. If you are in a hurry to get certain colors, you can order individiual colors now. Be sure to also purchase the Flower Soft glue. It is a very thick glue that works perfect with this product. If you have any additional questions about this, please email me.
