Cat in Window

This is a card that was suppose to post yesterday, however our town was without Internet Service all day.

I think it is so fun to be able to create a scene by using just die cuts!  This card was designed using the Poppy Stamps "Small Madison Window"  and the matching "Window Shutter" dies.  Joan's Gardens has the new Savvy "Awning" which works so well with the window dies.  It will work with any size window die you  have.   The new "Savvy" dies are posted on her blog.  I die cut the awning twice and glued them together so it would go across both the window and the shutters.  Isn't this a great addition to your window dies!

Can you guess how I made the little yellow sunflowers?  I used the eight point "flower base" from the Cheery Lynn "Build A Flower #1".  It is really nice you can use the pieces in the Build A Flower Series for so many different flowers!  There are four layers to the sunflowers.  The stamen was created with the large sun punch.  The "stems and leaves" are pieces from the Marianne Design "Forest Branch".  I cut off the flourish on the top part of that die cut, and think they look pretty good as the stem/leaves of the flowers.  The grass is from the Cheery Lynn "Grass Border".  To complete the window scene, I added the cat from the Cheery Lynn "Screen Door with Cat" die and small butterflies from the Memory Box "Butterfly Delights" die.  The yellow background was embossed by using one of the Sizzix "Corners & Lattice Set" embossing folders.

If you haven't been over to Joan's Gardens, you will be delighted to see all the new products she recently posted.  There are lots of new dies for all your Autumn cards, Christmas Cards, and much, much more.

All the products used on this card can be purchased from Joan's Gardens:

Selma--this is lovely!!! I especially love the black cat sitting in the window since my Geordi kitty is solid black (with a few grey hairs, but don't we all have a few of those as we age? LOL) Beautiful card!!!! TFS
