Today I wanted to make a pretty box for some cards I want to send to a wonderful friend. When I moved from Colorado, I lost contact with my best friend from school. I recently saw her anniversary picture in the home town newspaper and got in contact with her. It has made me so happy to visit with her again. She sent me a big box of embellishments to use on my cards and this is going to be my thank you to her.
The box I decided to make is from "My Time Made Easy". This is another fun box designed by Lauren Meader. Lauren has so many really great templates for all kinds of boxes/containers. (Edit: I had a question about if there are instructions for this box and I want to let you know that when you purchase this template, Lauren also has very complete instructions and pictures, with each download.) The name of this box is called "Card Catch All". You can make it with or without the divider. I decided to make it with the divider. I didn't really need it for the cards I was sending, but I wanted to see how hard it would be to make with it. Oh my gosh . . . it was super easy. I know I will be making a lot more of these boxes to send out cards to friends for gifts.
Pixie Pink card stock was used for the box. I don't have a cutting system so printed the template off on computer paper then used temporary tape to attach to the card stock and cut it out with scissors. It was not hard. At the top I used my JustRite monogram stamp for my friend's initial and cut it out with petite circle Nestabilities. I purchased the flourish stamp set from Lauren and stamped the flourish and 3 small flowers behind the initial.
With the template, the front panel is also included so you can get a perfect match to add a decorative paper panel or do as I did and decorate you own panel. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the bottom then stamped the design using Lauren's Fanciful Flourishes stamp set. I wanted to add the pink and white dotted swiss ribbon so decided to use the Cuttlebug dotted Swiss embossing folder on the panel above the border. I also created the same for the side panels. Pearls were added to complete the box. I love how easy this was to make and I think I my friend will enjoy receiving it. I am putting a variety of eight cards in this cute package for her.
