Water Spritz Challenge

Gina has a great video over on StampTV on how to get a pretty watercolor look when using your solid stamps by water spritzing. This is a technique I love to use. You can see the video here. She also has posted a challenge using the Water Spritz Technique. You can see the details here. I love the card Gina made and was hoping my new StampTV Kit would arrive in the mail today, but guess I have to wait one more day. I was anxious to make a card with this technique so I used a flower from Gina's Showtime Stamp Kit "Elegant Flowers"

The markers I used to color this flower are Pale Plum, Perfect Plum, and Mellow Moss. After spritzing the flower with a fine water mist, I stamped it on Gina's Pure Luxury white card stock. I used my Oval Nestabilities to cut it out, then matted it with a larger Mellow Moss oval.

The designer paper is "Cruise Stripes" by EK Success. It is a two sided paper so I cut a piece to fit the front of the card then cut it in half and put the solid side on top. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border. I added a narrow piece of black ribbon on top of the border for an accent. There is dimensional tape between the oval layers and on the bottom to give the card dimension. A green bow was added to dress it up a little. The salutation is also from the Elegant Flowers stamp set. I cut it out with the Small Petite Nestabilites die and sponged it with Pale Plum and Pretty In Pink, before taking it out. I then used a paper piercer around the scallops. The upper part of the card seemed like it needed something so I decided to add small yellow butterflies to pick up the yellow in the designer paper. The punch is by Martha Stewart.

This is a fun and easy challenge. I hope you will join in on the fun. You have a chance to win any Gina K stamp set valued up to $24.95. It is a random drawing so everyone has a chance to win. You can read all the details on the link above.

Thanks for stopping by.

Selma,

I love this card and I love the water spritz technique. The color combo is so pretty and the small butterflies just top the card off.
