Owl Tri Shutter Card
Several months ago my StampTV friend, Betty Benton, made a beautiful Tri Shutter card. She was nice enough to give us the link for the directions but I never found time to make one. I have finally done it. My card is pretty simple but I like it. I found it hard to get a good picture but I have uploaded three views.
I used Gina K's "OWl Always Love You" stamp set. There are two owl stamps in this set but neither one worked as is. I definitely wanted to use owls on this card because I wanted to use some left over designer paper from another card. I used the stamp with two owls on a branch and cut one of them off. It fit perfect for what I wanted. I used Copic markers to color then cut around the part of the design I wanted. I cut the frames with Oval Nestabilities to match colors in the designer paper and matted them together.
Pieces of designer paper were cut and matted to fit on several sections of the card. A brown ribbon was tied around one corner of the lover center piece. I stamped one of the verses from this stamp set and cut it out with Nesties and mounted in the center. I used six SU Navy Blue buttons to complete the card.
I took this picture with the card laying on the table and the picture below it is standing up so you can see the cuts.
I love this style of this card. It is kind of amazing it fits in an A-2 size envelope. I think it will be a "WOW!" card when the recipent opens it. I plan to make some more. Have you tried doing this? There are some beautiful cards in the StampTV gallery to give you more ideas. Also, there is currently a tutorial over on SCS on how to make this type of card.
Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Wonderful card. I love the owls, trees, and colors. You did a great job on the trifold.
I'll have to try this!
Beautiful card, these are a lot of work and cutting, yours is way over the top! Love every thing about it!
Selma, your card is gorgeous! I've seen these tri shutter cards on-line before and always thought that they looked too complicated to try. Seeing how beautiful yours came out I now think that I need to attempt making one.
It is a WOW card, great work, design and colors. Lucky whoever gets it.
Selma, This is just gorgeous! I love the dp! Fabulous job!
I have not made a tri shutter card yet but plan to.
If you do decide to buy any of the magnolia stamps, I found 7 kids college fund to have the best price for them. Beware, they are very addicting! lol!
OMG, Selma, this card is amazing. Your choice of colors with the OWL is perfect, and the card to me seems crisp and clear. I have never seen a card like this before, but it is very very neat.
