You can now purchase the new release Garden Notes die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs.
This card designed using the new Garden Notes Calendula. You can watch Susan's Garden Club FaceBook Video to learn how to create this flower plus two others from the new release.
This is a 6-inch card. Cut a piece of white card stock 5 3/4 inches square. Use a dotted embossing folder to emboss this piece. Use a scoreboard and score around the edges. Attach to the front of the card.
Use the Leafy Lace Heart die set and die cut the background using Dove Gray Cardstock. Use White Soft Finish Cardstock to die cut the lacy heart. Attach the lacy heart over the solid gray heart.
Use the General Sentiments Clear Stamp Set for the Sentiment. Use VersaMark Ink to stamp the sentiment and gold emboss.
Attach the die cut heart to the upper right side of the card.
To create the Calendula, use the Garden Notes Calendula die set and die cut the petals out of yellow card stock. I used three large, one medium, and one small petals. In Susan's video, she used two large, one medium, and one small petals. Use a sponge and lightly sponge orange ink on the tips of all the petals. Shape the petals using the Flower Tool Kit. Glue the layers together using Kids Choice Glue. For the center of each flower, four of the small stamen pieces were die cut -- 2 pieces die cut with brown card stock, and 2 pieces die cut using dark rust card stock. Each filament of the stamen was cut in half using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Fine Pointed Scissors, to make them 'frilly'. The brown stamen tips was edged with brown pollen and the rust stamen tips edged with the dark rust pollen. The two brown and two rust pieces were alternated in the center of each flower.
Use the Garden Notes Jasmine die set to create 7 Jasmine flowers. Shape the flowers with the Flower Tool Kit and assemble with the Kids Choice Glue. Add yellow pollen to the end of the stamens.
Use the Leafy Branch die set and die cut several branches, using green card stock. These branches should be cut apart to fit behind the flowers. The leaves were shaped using the Flower Tool Kit.
Arrange the Leafy Branches, Calendulas and Jasmine flowers on the left side of the Leafy Lace Heart die cut.
