Ice Skates with Mittens

Good Morning.  Today I have another Christmas card designed using Susan's new Ice Skates die set.

For the background, I used a piece of Kraft card stock cut 6x6 inches to cover the front of the card.  I used the Scor-Pal to score a 1/8th inch border around the edge for a finishing touch.   I used the Spellbinders Fluted Classic Ovals die set to die cut an opening in the upper right corner.  The fluted die was placed down ( which only add the flutted design)  with the thin oval die (which cuts the opening),  on the inside so the opening was inside the embossed fluted edge.  I have the P-13 Cozy Winter design paper pad and cut out the mitten design from one of the  pages and glued it behind the oval opening.

Using Susan's Ice Skate die set, two skates were die cut.  the heels and soles were colored with a brown marker.  Distress Tea Dye Ink was very lightly brushed (I used a blending brush) around the bottom edges of the white boots and around the toes.  I wanted the ice skates to match the mittens pictured in the oval.    A silver marker was used to color the hooks at the top of the boots.  Brown twine was used for the skate laces.  For the blades, the bottom of the skate die was placed over silver mirror card stock and die cut.  They were trimmed to fit under the skate and glued on.  The ice skates were attached using dimensional tape.

The Poinsettia die set was used to create a white poinsettia.  A light yellow green PanPastel was used at the base of the petals.  Nuvo drops were used for the bracts of the poinsettia.  I tiny bit of yellow pollen was added over the bracts.  The poinsettia was die cut using Susan's Specialty Cardstock.  It was shaped using Susan's Flower Tool Kit and assembled using Bearly Art Glue.

Susan's Pinecone die set was used to create two pinecones.  Susan has a YouTube video to show how to create the pinecones and poinsettia.

For a filler in the ice skates, I used Susan's new Winter Evergreen Foliage die set and die cut the Whitepine.  Everything was arranged in the boots then snow added to the whitepine branches.

Do you have an idea for filling these ice skates for one of your cards?
Below I have added links for products needed to complete this card.
