Pink Clematis with Blue Bird

Clematis are such beautiful flowers and are very easy to create using the Garden Notes Clematis die set from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

This is a 6-inch square card.  A piece of white card stock was cut 5 3/4 inches square and embossed with a dotted embossing folder.  The edges of this piece were scored for a finished appearance.

For the center of the card, a square of watercolor paper was colored using light blue and light green inks.  The inks were put on a craft mat, sprayed with water, then the watercolor paper was dabbed down into the ink.  Once dry, a pearlized spray was applied to give it a shiny appearance.  Use the 4th Fitted Square die to die cut the inked background that will fit behind the frame.

To cut the white frame, Use the 3rd Dotted Scallop Square die and the 5th Frame It/Stitched Square.  Place the smaller frame inside the larger square and die cut.  Glue the frame over the watercolored piece.  Attach to the center of the card, using dimensional tape.

Use the Garden Notes die set and create three pink clematis.  Use the flower tool kit to shape the petals and leaves.  Assemble using Kids Choice Glue.

Use the Garden Notes Jasmine die set and die cut 12 flowers and leaves.  Shape with the flower tool kit.  Cut down the center of each yellow stamen, with the Fine Pointed Scissors,  to give them a fuller appearance.  Glue in the center of the petals.

Use the Garden Notes Maidenhair Fern die set and die cut both ferns twice, using white card stock.  Sponge on light green ink.

Arrange the ferns, the clematis and jasmine around the left side of the frame, as shown.

Use the Garden Notes, Garden Birds, die set and die cut one bird.  Color with markers.  Attach inside the frame, next to the flowers, as shown.

This card will mail nicely inside one of the clear acrylic boxes sold at Elizabeth Craft Designs.
