More Cardinals

I want to wish you a Happy New Year.  Do you have big celebration plans for tonight?  I have been busy today working on some design work.   I did not have time to create a new card for today's post, so I am posting another card previously made for Heartfelt Creations

This is a 5x7 inch card. The cardinal border was stamped using black Memento ink and colored using colored pencils and oms. It was cut out with a Nestabilities “Sm Deckled Mega Rectangles” die then mounted onto a piece of black card stock. The background designer paper is from the DCWV “Christmas Combo” stack. The greeting was stamped and cut out with one of the new JustRite tag Nestabilities. It was attached with glue dots and two small pearls added. To complete the card, a double, burgundy, silk bow was added.

Snowy Cardinal

I hate to say it, but I took a "lazy" day yesterday.  I think the only thing I really did was read all the birthday wishes so many of you sent.  I want to thank all of you for making my day special.  We had plans to go out to celebrate but our weather is not cooperating.  It has been snowing since Monday night and probably won't let up until tomorrow. Our weatherman just said to expect about a foot of snow today.  We did not want to risk getting out on the highway so I spent a quiet day at home.

Today is Wednesday so all the new posts are up on the Heartfelt Creations blog.  This is one of the card I created for this post.  It is a 5.5 inch square card. A piece of green card stock was placed on the front. The Nestabilities “Fleur De Lis” pendant was used to cut an opening in the center of a piece of white card stock. This piece was embossed with the Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss embossing folder then attached over the green card stock. The die cut pendant was placed back in the opening and the cut out pieces reveal the green card stock below it. Another white Fleur De Lis pendant was cut out and attached with glue dots , turning the pendant a quarter turn. The Snowy Cardinal was stamped and colored with Copic Markers and colored pencils then cut out with scissors. It was attached in the center of the pendant with glue dots. A single cardinal was stamped, colored and cut out with the matching die. It was attached with a glue dot over the other cardinal. Polar White Flower Soft and glitter were added to the snow in the stamped image. A red bow and rhinestones were added to complete the card.

Thank You

I hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday.  We are enjoying spending time with our family and Santa was good to all of us. I received lots of great stamping items and will be sharing some of these with you later.    I was overjoyed with all the gorgeous, hand made Christmas and Birthday cards I received this year, and want to thank each of you for thinking of me.  Everyday it was so fun to pick up the mail and see I had cards from my blogging friends.  I enjoyed sitting down with my family and sharing all your cards.   Since the holidays are for spending time with family, I have not had much time for stamping but really look forward to working on some new projects soon .  Joan (Joan's Gardens) has some great, new, products she will be posting soon,  plus the new challenges for 2011 will start next week.   We are working on some new ideas for the challenges so hope you will join us.     Also, Heartfelt Creations will be releasing the new Springtime Medley Collection on Jan 12th.  I have started working on cards for this release.   I love making Christmas cards but I am really looking forward to working with Springtime images.  I don't have a card for you today but have joined in on a blog hop to post some of my favorite cards for 2010, which you can see below.  I wonder if I chose one of your favorites!  Tomorrow is my birthday, but I will try and have a new post for you.  Thanks for stopping by.

Top Ten Card/Projects 2010 Blog Hop

This is a fun blog hop. The Manic World of Mrs Weyremaster blog has organized a blog hop asking bloggers to share ten of their favorite cards/projects created in 2010.  Here are the instructions she posted:  The objective is to let all the cardmakers/crafters out there in blogland showcase cards they have made this year.  You don't need to create anything new, all you need do is select 10 cards/projects you've made this year to share.  It was hard to narrow it down, but here are my cards/project I chose:

Crepe Paper Roses (JustRite Stamps)

Heartfelt Creations

Vellum Flowers (JustRite stamps)

Heartfelt Creations

A Year of Flowers stamps by Melanie Muenchinger (Gina K)

JustRite

Easel Card (JustRite stamps)

Heartfelt Creations

Punched Roses (JustRite Stamps)

 Luminary made with JustRite Stamps

Vellum Flowers

I would love it if you would leave a comment below and let me know which one is your favorite.

Tattered Flowers

This card was made using the Tim Holtz "Tattered Flowers" die and a Spellbinders vine.  I wasn't going to post this card because the design paper does not show up well.  It is a Martha Stewart yellow and white dotted paper, and looks really pretty under these flowers, but it does not show up in the photo.  Using the die, all the flowers were cut out six times.  Several sizes were used for each flower.  I sprayed them after they were cut out with a fine mist of water and shaped each petal.  A punch was used for the stamens.  The verse is from the JustRite "Nature's Nested Sentiments" stamp set.  It was black embossed.  A Martha Stewart Monarch butterfly was added to complete the card.

These products can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.

Season's Greetings

I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas. I really appreciate all of you that follow my blog and want to let you know I really enjoy reading all your comments.  Blogging friends are the best!
I recently received the Spellbinder "Heirloom Ornament" dies from Joan's Gardens and wanted to use them at least once before Christmas. The poinsettia is a stamp I have had for a while. It is a Inkadinkado stamp. I colored it with Copic Markers. A Krylon 18kt gold leafing pen was used to outline the ornament. The background on this card was embossed with the Cuttlebug "Holly Ribbons" embossing folder. A strip of design paper from the DCWV "Christmas Combo" pack was added along the left side.

The greeting is from the JustRite "Christmas Nested Sentiments" set and was cut out with the JustRite Nestability dies. These are also available from Joan's Gardens. The ornament was attached with dimensional tape. A red bow was added as well as some Martha Stewart branches and a few pearls.

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas.

Cardinal Pine Bough

Today is the posting of new cards created by the designers for Heartfelt Creations.  You can see them on the blog here.  There is lots of new inspiration using Heartfelt Creations stamps and I hope you will check them out.

This is a 5.5 inch card. The large Heartfelt Creations cardinal "HCPC 3350 Lg. Cardinal Pine Bough PreCut set"  was stamped and colored using a combination of Prisma pencils and Copic markers. It was cut out. The Quickutz Diamonds and Dots embossing folder was used for the design on the white background. A narrow strip of design paper from the DCWV “The Christmas Combo” stack was placed down the left side. Three decorative buttons were attached with glue dots. The cardinal was attached with adhesive.

Be sure and check out all the inspiration on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

Daisies

This is a 5x7 inch card. The Heartfelt Creations bouquet  "HCPC 3325 Daisy Patch Bouquet Precut set"  was stamped on white card stock and colored with colored pencils and OMS. A single daisy "HCPC 3318 Daisy Patch Flowers PreCut set"  was stamped and cut out with matching die "HCD 703 Daisy Patch Diecuts"  and attached over the center daisy. The bottom portion of the design was embossed with the Cuttlebug dotted Swiss embossing folder before adding the dimensional daisy. Another piece of white card stock was cut out and I used a Martha Stewart border/corner punch to give it a lacy design around the edges. The bouquet was attached in the center. Small brown beads were added to the center of the flowers. Four Cuttlebug corners were cut and placed around the design. A green gingham bow was added as well as three Martha Stewart punched butterflies.

To Grandmother's House

This is a 5x7 inch card.  The Heartfelt Creations image "1014K To Grandmother’s House"   was stamped on white card stock and colored with Copic Markers. The edges were sponged with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink then embossed with the Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss embossing folder. I used applied VersaMark Ink over the center of the design and embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder to give it a frosty look. The background paper is from the K&Company Yuletide paper pad. A gold bow was added to complete the card.

Rejoice

I think I am finally all ready for Christmas with the exception of baking some "goodies".  I am going to have my grandkids help me with that.  It is so much fun to see their creative ideas when it comes to making cookies.  Then hopefully this evening we will get our holiday trays delivered to our neighbors.  The snow has been falling so we will be having a beautiful white Christmas.

Today I'm posting another 5.5" square card. The designer paper is from the DCWV Winter Wonder stack. On each corner I attached a pretty silver trim with ScorTape. The flower was created using 12 large petals and 6 smaller petals from the Heartfelt Creations "HCPC 3313 Perfect Petal Medley PreCut Set".  They were silver embossed on burgundy card stock then cut out with the matching dies "HCD 704 Perfect Petals Diecuts" . The tip of each petal was twisted to give them shape. The flower was created using a punched six point snowflake for the base to evenly space each layer of the petals. A smaller silver snowflake was used for the center of the flower then a silver bead added. The greeting "HCPC 3351 Cardinal With Holly Berries PreCut Set"  was longer but I only wanted to use the word “Rejoice” so I used a VersaMark Pen to ink up just that word, then silver embossed it. It was cut out with a Spellbinder Sm Scalloped Octagon die. Each scallop was pierced then the edges silver embossed. It was attached with a dimensional glue dot. A pretty lacy bow was added to complete the card. The design paper has glitter in it so this makes a very sparkly card.

It has been so much fun this year creating my Christmas cards using stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations.  Now I am excited about the new  Springtime Medley Collection which is scheduled to make it's debut on January 12, 2011;  it features 5 new PreCut Stamp sets and 1 Exclusive die. I will be busy working with this new collection.  You know me -- I love to work with flowers so I will be having lots of fun creating lots of samples for you to see on the Heartfelt Creations blog.

I appreciate you stopping by to see my work.  Enjoy your weekend.

Merry Christmas to You

This is a 5.5 inch card. I used my new ScorPal to emboss a ¼ inch line around the edge of the front of the card. A border was created with the Martha Stewart String Lace border punch on a 5 inch square piece of card stock. On the next layer, I use the ScorPal to create ¼ inch line across a 4 inch piece of card stock (going both directions) then edged it with a Krylon 18kt Gold Leafing Pen. I punched a border on another 3 ¼ inch square piece of card stock with the Martha Stewart Swirling Lace punch. The greeting Heartfelt Creations "HCPC 2134 Holly Border-Cardinal Branch PreCut set"  was gold embossed on this square. Three poinsettias from the Heartfelt Creations "HCPC 2291 Regal Poinsettia 2 Precut set"  were gold embossed then cut out with the matching die. I cut between each petal to give the flower dimension. They were attached with glue dots. Punched leaves were added under each flower. A double organdy white bow was added to complete the card.

Cardinal

My oldest son and his family arrived yesterday for Christmas.  Seems like each time I see the grandkids they grow another few inches,  They are all excited to get out on the ski slopes.  Since I have been too busy to stamp, I am posting another card I created for the Heartfelt Creations Blog.
This is a 5.5 inch card. The background paper is from the Webster’s Pages Waiting for Santa & Sweet Season paper pack. The Heartfelt Creations cardinal was stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers. The second largest Spellbinders Beaded Oval was cut out on ivory card stock and sponged with Sarah Sand ink. The frame is from the KaiserCraft “Tis the Season Collection” paper pack. It was layered onto the Nestie frame. The brown lace is from the Webster’s Pages Designer trim “Wonderfall”. It was layered onto a wide piece of lace I have had for a long time. A brown bow was made and a button from Making Memories was attached in the center with a glue dot. A Zva Creative Self Adhesive pearl swirl was cut apart and attached on the top of the card. Brown, Kaiser Craft pearls were added along the lace to complete the card.

Innoscents Flowers

It's time for more beautiful cards and projects prepared by the Heartfelt Creations design team.  The new Heartfelt Creations blog is posted and sure to give you lots of  inspiration for the last few Christmas cards you need to make.  In January,  Heartfelt Creations will be launching new product releases every second Wednesday of the month. The Springtime Medley Collection is scheduled to make it's debut on January 12, 2011, featuring 5 new PreCut Stamp sets and 1 Exclusive die.

I love working with the Heartfelt Creations flower stamps and dies.  This card is made with a flower set I haven't posted before. These flowers are called Innoscents Flowers and can be cut out with the Nestabilities Blossom 2 dies.
This is a 5.5 inch square ivory card. A brown mat was cut to layer on the front. The design is stamped on a 1/8” smaller ivory piece of card stock. The Large Elegant Word Background "HCPC 3323 Large Elegant Word Background PreCut Set"  was stamped using Tim Holtz “Antique Linen” Distress Ink. The edges were sponged with brown ink. The beautiful swirl  "HCPC 2251 Elegante Border and Swirl PreCut Set"  was stamped with VersaMark ink and gold embossed over the word background. The decorative corner border was cut out using brown card stock. Ten of the smallest flowers from the Heartfelt Creations" HCPC 2241 Innoscents Flowers 1 PreCut set"   were stamped with VersaMark ink on brown card stock and embossed with Vanilla embossing powder. They were cut out with the matching Nestie die. Part of the petals were cut off five of the flowers so they could be dimensional on top of the other five flowers. These flowers were layered then arranged and attached with a small piece of dimensional tape above the beautiful corner flourish "HCD 704 Perfect Petals Dies".   Martha Stewart punched branches were arranged under the flowers. A brown bow and brown and “blush” pearls were added to complete this card.

Dainty Purple Posies

This is a quick post.  My DH has not been feeling real well so his heart doctor asked him to go to the hospital today for a few tests.  I will be gone a good portion of the day so that means I probably won't get in any stamping today.  I am posting another card I created for the Heartfelt Creations Blog post.  Have you checked out all the beautiful cards created by the design team this week?  Heartfelt Creations is also having an awesome sale -- 50% off on some of the Limited Edition Precut Sets and 50% off Blue Hill Studio Punches.

This is a 5.5 inch card. The designer paper used is from the Basic Grey “Cappella Paper Pad”. Six of the smallest Posy Patch flowers from the Heartfelt Creations "HCPC 3303 Posy Patch Flowers PreCut set"  were stamped using purple ink onto lavender card stock. They were cut out using matching dies (HCD 701 Posy Patch Diecuts). The centers are made out of card stock. The Tim Holtz “Paper Rosette” die was used to create the rosette under the flowers. It was cut out of SU Always Artichoke card stock. Martha Stewart punches were used to punch out the fronds and branches under the flowers. One design paper was attached to the white card then a piece of trim added across the middle. A smaller piece of design paper from the same paper pad was cut. A slightly larger piece of Always Artichoke card stock was cut and the edges distressed. The two pieces were layered together. The Rosette, branches, and Posy Patch flowers were arranged on this small rectangle. Lavender pearls were added to the card. Three Martha Stewart butterflies were punched and added plus a cameo from Webster’s Pages Silhouettes.

I love the dainty look of this card.

Are you about ready for the holidays? If you get a chance, be sure and enter a card into this week's challenge at Joan's Gardens.  This will be the last challenge for this year.

Glitz

This morning I decided to "experiement" with something completly different from my normal routine.  The deer was cut using the Tim Holtz "Reindeer Flight" die.  The pine tree was cut out with a Sizzix die I have had for several years called "Tree, Christmas #2".  The designer paper is from the K&Company "Yuletide" paper pad.  The card is 5 1/2 inches square.  The Tim Holtz die can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.

I decided to experiment with Sticker Paper to  die cut the two images.  I did this because I wanted to make this a glitzy card.  You are normally suppose to stamp on the front of the paper and then peel off the backing to attach it to your project, but I thought it would be fun to see if glitter would stick to the "sticker part" and it did.  For the tree I used another product I have had for years.  I store all my glitters and embossing powders in small trays so the only name I have on this glitter is "Roxs-Emerald". It is very chunky.  I don't remember who it is made by.  I put the tree in a glitter tray and pressed the Roxs into it.  It did not completely cover the design so I added a fine green glitter over it to cover all open spaces.  It covered perfectly.  Gold glitter was added to the trunk of the tree.

The Tim Holtz deer was also cut out using sticker paper.  After taking the backing off, I laid it down in the gold glitter tray and pressed it into the glitter to completely cover it.  It picked up the fine glitter in one try.  I wanted to "ground" the tree and deer so I cut two pieces of white card stock to resemble snow banks and attached them to the bottom of the card.  I added some liquid glue to the snow and sprinkled on diamond dust glitter. After I did this, I was thinking I should have used more sticker paper!  To give more dimension to the snow, I added Twinklets "Diamond Dust" along the edges of the snow banks.  I found a yellow star button and added it to the top of the tree then added yellow Stickles to it.  Small red rhinestones were attached using DG3 Art Gel.  Small snowflakes saved from using a Martha Stewart snowflake border punch (Snow Flurry) were added to complete the card.

I want to remind you that this is the last Joan's Garden challenge for 2010. If you still want a chance to win a great prize and then be in the end of the year drawing for a $100 gift certificate to Joan's Gardens, this is you last chance.  You can check out all the challenge details here.

I finished up my Christmas shopping yesterday -- even for my DH.  I knew he would want something to do with golf and found exactly what he wants.  Now to get everything wrapped!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

Country Snowman

We have some more bad weather predicted so today I plan to go into town to hopefully complete my Christmas shopping.  I always hate to go on the weekends but need to get it down before my grandkids arrive next week.    I will not have any stamping time so I am posting a card I made for HFC.  The new cards have been posted on the Heartfelt Creations blog and this is one I created.  Be sure to check out all the beautiful projects created by the design team plus there are some great sales listed for Limited Edition Precut sets and  Blue Hill Studio Punches.

This is a 5.5 inch card. A piece of red card stock was cut slightly smaller and attached to the front. Using a 5-inch square I scored every inch going both directions to create a tile effect on the card. On the “valley” side I stamped the Heartfelt Creations Country Snowman using black ink. Using Copic markers, the image was colored, trying to avoid the valley creases. A poinsettia was created using the Regal Poinsettia stamp. It was stamped twice using Tim Holtz Brick Red ink on red card stock. They were cut out using the Blossom die. The back petals of one of the flowers were cut off then it was layered on the other flower. Gold beads were added to the center. Martha Stewart green branches were added under the flower. The greeting from the Single Snowflakes set was stamped and I cut around each word so I could place them in the center of three different squares. Five Martha Stewart punched snowflakes were added. Glitter was added to complete the card.

Heartfelt Creations Products used:  1049G Country Snowman; HCPC 2291 Regal Poinsettia 2 Precut Set; Blossom 2 Nestabilities; HCPC 3344 Single Snowflakes PreCut Set;

Have a wonderful weekend.

May This Season

This is a 5x5 inch card.  The background paper is from the Mariposa stack.  The greeting is from the JustRite "Christmas Nested Sentiments" and it was cut out with one of the new JustRite matching Nestabilities.  The center was sponged with a darker aqua ink so the white embossed verse would show up better.  The snowlady is from the JustRite "Holiday Cheer Set".  She was cut out with a Big Scallop Circle Nestie and was attached with a big glue dot over the corner of the greeting.  An aqua strip of card stock was placed across the bottom of the card and a pretty piece of lace attached over it with a piece of ScorTape.  A pretty silk bow and pearls were added to complete the card.

All the products used on this card can be purchased from Joan's Gardens

I have been busy trying to get ready before lots of company arrives next week.  There is always so much to do this time of year, isn't there.

Have a great weekend.  Thanks for stopping by.

Joan's Garden Challenge #26

Are you getting excited to see who won the Joan's Gardens challenge last week.  Joan will be posting the winners  of  the grand prize donated by Heartfelt Creations plus the three winners of the prize packages from Joan's Gardens, this afternoon.

This is the last challenge for 2010 for Joan's Gardens.  It is a very easy one.  Here are the requirements.   Make a card or project this week and use the following:

1. Use some kind of snow or snow flakes
2. White is the color for the week, so make sure you have white on your card
3. Do some Chalking
4. Create some kind of a window look

The stamp set I used is Heartfelt Creations HCPC 2134 Holly Border-Cardinal Branch PreCut set".  It was stamped and colored with a combination of Copic markers and colored pencils.  The background was chalked in yellow to highlight the cardinal.  It was cut out with a Nestability Labels One.  I needed a window for the challenge so used the same die and place the next smaller one inside it to cut a frame.  It was adhered over the design.  This was placed over a square that I used the Martha Stewart "String Lace" punch to create the border.  A larger 5 1/4 in frame was created using the Martha Stewart Snowflake border punch.  I saved the snowflakes that were punched out.  I cut a square to fit inside this snowflake border and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss embossing folder.  The String Lace border was attached with dimensional dots.

The verse is from one of the new JustRite Cling stamp sets "Simple Blessings".  It was cut out with one of the new JustRite Nestabilitie dies.  I was so happy to see these new dies that fit so many of the JustRite greetings. A "icicle" Martha Stewart border was punched and added above the stamped image.  I added sparkly diamond glitter to the icicles then across the top added another line of "Twinklets" Diamond Dust.   Diamond glitter was also added to each of the little snowflakes.

All the products used to create my card can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.

I hope you will join us in this week's challenge.
