Merry Christmas

Today I have another Christmas card for you.  This is a 5x7 inch card.  A piece of plaid design paper was added to the front.  To create the frame, use the largest Els van de  Burgt Studio Dotted Scallop Rectangle to die cut a red frame and the largest Stitched Rectangle to die cut a white frame.

Snowstorm & Mounds

Use Susan's new Snowstorm & Mounds Stencil to create a background on the white Stitched Rectangle.  Place the "dots" up close to the edge and center the stencil, taping down with removable tape so it won't move.  Run it through your die cutting machine to emboss the design.  Another way to get the Snowstorm effect, is to use Texture Paste over the Stencil, or you can sponge on color through the stencil. Attach the embossed frame to the red die cut frame.

Die cut the Cardinal using Susan's new Garden Notes Garden Birds 1 die set.  Color with makers.

For the glittered branches, attach Clear Double Sided Adhesive to white card stock.  Place the Garden Notes Whitepine Bough die on the adhesive side and die cut three branches.  It is easier to die cut if you use the Metal Adaptor Plate when using card stock covered with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  Use Go To Green Silk Microfine Glitter to cover the adhesive.  Be sure to polish the glitter with your fingers after applying it, so it will become very sparkly.

Use the new A Way With Words - Merry Christmas 2 die to die cut the sentiment out of Gold Shimmer Sheetz.  Again, use the Metal Adaptor Plate.

Attach the embossed frame over design paper.  Start assembling the design by first attaching the die cut "Christmas" so the bottom of the sentiment is even with the bottom of the card.  Next attach the "Merry" die cut.  Now you can attach the Pineboughs so they do not cover up the sentiment.  Attach the Cardinal as shown, with a dimensional glue dot.

For a little more elegance, add Gold Peel Off Line Stickers around the white embossed frame and around the edge of the design paper.

This card will mail in a 5x7 envelope.

I really had to look hard to see the white on white details...I'm sure they are easier to see in person. Part of my family just moved from the West Coast to the Midwest, so they are seeing live cardinals for the first time. What a dramatic treat provided by Mother Nature! Thanks for the tutorial narrative about this card...easy to follow. Nice!
