CountryScapes Snowman

Most of you know that I love to create cards with snowman.  It is so fun to create different scenes with Susan's CountryScapes dies and of course I wanted to use her Build A Snowman dies to create this scene.  I love using the CountryScapes dies because you can create "dimensional" cards that do not need extra postage.

This is a 6"x6" card.  I started with a piece of blue design paper for the background.

Outdoor scenes need clouds in the sky, so I used Susan's Garden Cloud die to create the subtle clouds on this card.  I used the "negative" template part of the die cut and white ink.  The template was held down and the white ink rubbed in circles - this does not create real bold clouds, but was perfect for a winter day sky.  The clouds do show up a little more on the real card.

Susan's Build A Snowman dies were used to die cut all the pieces using 100 lb Soft Finish Cardstock.  The scarf was die cut using a piece of design paper.  Copic markers were used to color the die cut pieces.  The CountryScapes Country Fence was die cut using white card stock and colored with Distress Inks. Only a portion of the fence was used.  The snow mounds on the fence were die cut using the CountryScapes Backyard 4 Snow Decor dies.  On the fence I added an evergreen bough and a poinsettia, also from the CountryScapes Backyard 4 set.

The tree was die cut using the CountryScapes Woods 1 die.  It was sponged with Distress Inks and added in front of the fence, using dimensional tape.  The rabbits, squirrel, and red cardinal were die cut using dies from the CountryScapes Critters 1 die set.

In order to create a snowy scene, I needed to add snow to the tree, so I used Tulip white Puffy dimensional paint.  Just small amounts were added then I used the heat gun to make the "snow" puff up.  Some of the Puffy paint was also added under the animals and snowman.  The greeting was die cut using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Season's Greeting die.

Your winterscape card is lovely, Selma! Can't get over that teeny, tiny poinsettia.

Hi, Selma,
What a gorgeous card! I love snowmen as well and think that anyone who received a card like this at Christmas would not want to put it away after the holiday season :). I'm in the UK so get a little confused with the card weights you use in the US as we got by gsm (grams per square meter) over here for some reason but apart from that, it was so easy to follow the 'ingredients' you used to make this wonderful card.

A beautiful card Selma. I love those pops of red but most of all your wonderful clouds - thank you for sharing how you achieved them.
