Today I am posting a picture of the top of a box I decorated to hold a gift to a friend. A pearlized piece of card stock was attached to the center of the lid with Clear Double Sided Adhesive. (This is a black wood cigar box that I cleaned up and decorated. The inside and bottom of the box was lined with Velvet Adhesive Sheets.
Susan's Garden Notes Cosmos die set was used to create all the Cosmos. The only greenery used are the Cosmos leaves. The flowers and leaves were shaped using Susan's Flower Tool Kit. Soft Finish Cardstock was used for the flowers and leaves.
One of the butterflies from the Dancing Butterflies die set was die cut using a pearlized lavender card stock.
A pearl swirl element and a bow were added to complete the top of this box.

Another beautiful work of art............
Gorgeous, Selma!
Simply beautiful!
Innovative...loved it.
The box makes a beautiful in itself!
Hope your friend realizes how special she is to you to be the recipient of your lovely box.
Thank you for sharing this project, Selma! I have a picture in a shadow box that I want to give as a
Mothers' Day gift. I need to decorate it but I didn't want it to be overdone. This is very inspiring.
Another gorgeous creation! Got a question for you - I have collected numerous cigar boxes, some cardboard style & some wooden. Did you do anything to get the smell out of them? Especially the wooden boxes?
I have not had a problem of the boxes smelling like cigars. I'm not sure what you could do. Have you lined them inside, and they still smell? I line my boxes with Velvet adhesive sheets from Elizabeth Craft Designs, with felt, or sometimes with design paper. I would open the boxes before buying, to make sure they don't have a strong cigar smell.
Beautiful box. I'm wondering what you colored the centers of the cosmos with? They look so "real". Thank you for the inspiration.
