Today I am posting a cute little basket just right for inserting a small gift or money. This is one of the new stamp sets from Heartfelt Creations "Decorative Basket" (HFC3410). The basket was stamped twice using VersaMark Ink on lavender card stock and white embossed. These pieces will be the front and the back of the basket. In order to create a "box" between the front and back, I cut a lavender piece of card stock 5 1/2" long by 2 3/4" wide. Score 1/4" from the edge down the long side, on both sides. These will be the "tabs" to attach the front to the back, to create a dimensional basket. Score 1 7/8" from each end across the short side. These score lines will create the "U" shape that forms the box. You can see this piece in the second photo above. A small slit needs to be cut up to the score line in order to form the box. Since the front and back have an embossed design, I also used the same basket stamp and white embossed part of the flower on this narrow piece on both the side panels - these are the pieces that will be seen between the front and back of the basket. All the scored lines were creased well with a bone folder then ScoreTape was added along the 1/4" edge, then attached to first the front portion of the basket, then the back. To add dimension to the front, additional flowers and leaves were stamped, shaped and attached over the stamped flowers. A small bow was added to the handle.
This cute Heartfelt Creations stamp set, as well as the rest of the "Decorative Basket Collection", can be purchased from Joan's Gardens.
