Joan's Garden Challenge #22

It's time for another Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenge.  This week we are to make a card or project and use the following:
  • A character ( preferably Magnolia or Sarah Kay)
  • Some thing that sparkles
  • Nestie by Spellbinders - New if you have one
  • Greeting
A few days ago I posted information about the new stamps Joan is now carrying in her store.  These Magnolia stamps are so cute.  This is my first time to work with them.  The stamp I used today is called "Tilda with Amaryllis".  Well I thought this would be a perfect stamp to use so I could make another amaryllis using the punches Joan now carries to create pretty flowers.

My designer paper came from the Kasier Craft "Be Merry Collection" paper pad collection.  The white strips on it are fuzzy.  I stamped Tilda on white card stock and colored her with Copic markers.  I used a white marker to create polka dots on her dress.  To match the dp, I added Polar White Flower Soft to her vest.

For the background for Tilda, I used one of the new Nestabilities called "Beaded Ovals".  I wanted some texture in the middle of this beaded oval so used a regular Nestie oval to cut a plain oval out and then embossed it with the Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss embossing folder.  Each layer is attached with dimensionals.  Each beaded oval has a red rhinestone added.

I created the amaryllis using the instructions in the Flower Book that Joan now sells.  She carries the tools, punches, glue, and the book which has very easy instructions for creating many different flowers.  I am always so pleased with how realistic these flowers are.

A red and white polka dot bow was added under the flower.  The Greeting is from the JustRite "A Very Merry Christmas Sentiments" stamp set.  It was cut out with a Nestability and each scallop pierced.

I had fun completing this challenge.  I hope you will join us this week.  Here is the link to the challenge rules at Joan's Gardens.  If you enter a card, you will be entered into the random drawing for a nice prize.  Don't forget, everyone who has won a prize in the challenges will be eligible for the $100 Gift Certificate Joan will be giving away at the end of the year.  What a great prize.
