This card is made for the "Just Us Girls" Challenge. They are focusing on Paper Piecing as a way to add color and pattern to your stamped images. In addition, you have the option to use pink somewhere on your card in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The stamp I decided would work best for this challenge is from the Showtime Stamp Kit "Eclectic Summer" available from Gina K Designs. The hot air balloon was stamped on white card stock then again on pink designer paper. I cut the one on the designer paper apart and pieced it on the white one. Since my card is basically pink and white, I decided to put on a lot of bling. (Lee from StampTV will love this, I know.) The white strips of the balloon have glitter added and bright pink rhinestones going across. This would be one attractive hot air balloon if you saw it up in the sky - don't you agree?
I used "Hip to Be Square", available from Gina K Designs, for the window. It was stamped onto a piece of patterend CS that reminded me of the sky. A sun was stamped in one corner and trees (Inkadinkado) stamped below to create a scene looking out a window. This window was cut out and attached to a piece of Pink Passion CS. The white background was embossed with the swirls Cuttlebug embossing folder. A MS punch was used for the lacey border.
This SU verse seemed to fit for this card. A few other rhinestones were added to complete the card.
This challenge is open until Thursday evening and they also have blog candy. Be sure to check it out here.
Tomorrow I will be participating in a Blog Hop for "A Very Merry Christmas" and will have a tutorial everyone has been asking me to make. See you then.
