Carolina Window with Red Poinsettia

I love Christmas and creating beautiful Christmas cards with Susan Tierney-Cockburn's dies.  For this card I used a piece of textured dark gold card stock to die cut Susan's Garden Notes Carolina Window & Shutters.  I placed the open portion over a piece of glittered card stock and colored it with markers to resemble light.  The die cut window was glued back in the opening.  I added a piece of black card stock behind the shutters (to help them stand out) and attached them with dimensional tape.

I die cut Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia using red card stock and created the bracts (center) using green, yellow and red Viva Paper Pens.  Five pine cones were created using dies from Susan's Whitepine Bough & Pine Cone dies, and I added pieces of the Whitepine Boughs under the pine cones.  The Elizabeth Craft Berry Branch was used to create the branches with the red berries, which were created with the Vivia Red Pearl Pen.

At the top of the card I added Whitepine Boughs and three small poinsettias, which were die cut using one of the dies from the CountryScapes Backyard 4 die set.  I used Elizabeth Craft Peel Off Stickers for the top corners and the sentiment.  A gold cord bow was placed under the poinsettia to tie in with the gold stickers.

Elegant Poinsettia Card

Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia's help you create beautiful Christmas cards!  I have shown you these poinsettias in red and non-traditional purple; today I want to show you how pretty they are in white, to create elegant cards.  I lightly sponged Susan's light green Pan Pastels at the base of the petals before assembling.  The leaves were sponged green with a hint of red.  Behind the poinsettias, I added a few pieces of Susan's Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs.  The gold berries were created with the ECD Berry Branch.  I die cut the branch using shiny gold card stock then glued on gold beads.  This helped to tie in with the beautiful shiny gold Quietfire Season's Greeting sentiment.

This is a 6"x6" card.  There is a slightly smaller piece of card stock that was attached with dimensional tape.  Another 5" square was cut for the Poinsettia arrangement and also attached with dimensional tape.  Elizabeth Craft gold border and corner stickers were used to frame this pretty arrangement.

Els announced on Facebook that Susan's new dies will start shipping soon.  I hope you are following Elizabeth Craft Designs on Facebook to see all the beautiful cards that are being posted and to see the many specials offered.

Hello

Today I created a card using Susan's CountryScapes Backyard 1 dies to create three pots of Geraniums. The fence was created with the ECD Bricks die.  I pieced them together to create a low brick wall.  The cat is a die cut from Susan's CountryScapes Critters 1 set.  The grass is a new Susan's Garden Cloud Grass die.  You can use this die as a stencil or use it to actually die cut grass as I did for this card.

The ECD new Fitted Frames 3 Curvy Rectangle dies were used to frame the A Way With Words Sentiment.  The butterflies were die cut from the Garden Notes Bugs & Butterflies set.

Masculine Christmas Tag

Today I designed a Christmas tag that I think will look great on a masculine Christmas gift.  (I know the tag looks crooked in the picture but I chose the photo that shows the details on the tag best -- the tag is not crooked.)  I used the new ECD Tags & More 9 Sparkle dies for the tag.  I used some of the die cut circles from this tag to create an embossed background (glued the die cut dots to tag).  At the top of the tag I added some of the Garden Notes Whitepine Bough & Pine Cone die cuts.  The sentiment is one of The Way With Words sentiments by Quietfire.

I used Susan's CountryScapes Critters 3 dies for the Deer, and a branch from the CountryScapes Woods 1 die set.  You can see the deer die cut on the left, and the branch I used for antlers for the deer is the one on the bottom right.  I thought it would be fun to create a buck since I could use one of the branches for his rack.  Just another way to great creative with the CountryScape dies!!!!

The tree was created using 4 die cut layers of the CountryScape Woods 1 die.  Along the bottom I cut card stock to create "grounding" for both the tree and the deer.

I receive a lot of requests asking about the card stock I use for my flowers and other die cuts.  I purchase the above pictured card stock from WalMart and use it for probably 90% of my die cuts.  It shapes very well, especially for flowers/leaves. I like to color most of my die cuts with either Susan's Pan Pastels or Distress Inks, so that is why I use white card stock. The cost is less than $6.

Sunflowers

It is sunflower season.  We just saw a huge field of sunflowers not far from us.  That inspired me to work with Susan's Garden Notes Sunflower dies.  I used a piece of Graphic 45 "French Country" Design Paper for the background.   Susan's new "Keep Your Face to the Sunshine" stamp was stamped on white card stock and cut out with scissors, then backed with a piece of green card stock.  Tea Dye Distress Ink was sponged on it to help it blend well with the background.

Yellow Rose Congratulations

Yellow Roses are so pretty.  Today I have designed a card using Susan's Garden Rose 1 dies.  There are two yellow rose buds, that are hard to see in the photo, located above the rose, that were also made with this die set.

To frame the rose, I used the new Fitted Frames 4 - Curvy Squares dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  The background was embossed with the ECD Hearts Entwined embossing folder. The flourishes used under the rose were die cut using the Flourishes & Branches dies. The sentiment was die cut using the new Quietfire Congratulations die. To finish the card black Corner Peel Off Stickers were added.

Build a Snowman with CountryScape dies

Very soon, Susan Tierney-Cockburn will have 10 new CountryScapes die sets available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

This fun scene was started by creating the CountryScapes Build a Snowman, then I started building a scene using other CountryScape die cuts.

Here is a close up picture of the snowman I created.  Everything you need to create your snowman is in this die set.  It even has earmuffs which I did not use.  On the hat I used some of the small holly from Susan's Garden Notes Holiday Holly and Berries set.

When using Susan's CountryScape dies, you can create something simple or combine any of the die cuts from the CountryScape series.  Just have fun being creative!

The dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs used for this card include:

1081 CountryScapes Build a Snowman (to be released soon)
1088 Garden Notes Holiday Holly & Berries (to be released soon)
1079 CountryScapes Backyard 4 Snow Decor (to be released soon)

Christmas Eve

ECD-DT-Aug-2015
The post I am sharing with you today is my Susan's Design Team project for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I am so excited to show you the beautiful Christmas Tree you can create with Susan's new CountryScapes - Woods 4 Holiday Evergreen & Trimmings dies that will be released soon.  This is a 6 inch by 6 inch card.

iECD-DT-Aug-2015-2
This is the tree die used.  This tree die set also comes with the dies to trim the tree and dies for the gift boxes.

ECD-DT-Aug-2015-Tut1
To create this "full" branched evergreen, die cut 4 trees.  I like to die cut using white card stock so I can sponge on the exact color I want.

ECD-DT-Aug-2015-Tut-2
If using white card stock, use a marker to color the tree trunk, and sponge on green ink over all of it.  This is a delicate die, so it is best to pounce on the color so you don't tear off the branches.

ECD-DT-Aug-2015-Tut3
I only colored the trunk of one tree because you will be layering the others on the back of it.

ECD-DT-Aug-2015-Tut4
Cut the trunks off the three trees that will be layered behind the top tree.  Add dimensional tape to the trunk of the tree that will be on top and two others.

ECD-DT-Aug-2015-tut5
Add one of the trees, without a trunk, over another tree, moving it down to alternate the branches.  Press down well on the trunk to attach it well.  Add the third tree over the first two, again lowering the tree slightly, alternating branches.

ECD-DT-Aug-2015-Tut6
Add the tree with the trunk on top, slightly lower, alternating branches, and you will have a nice full tree.

ECD-DT-Aug-2015-Tut7
Tree when all four layers are attached.

ECD-DT-Aug-2015-Tut8

Have fun decorating your tree with the trims provided in this set.   The star at the top of the tree was die cut from the Happy Birthday PopUp set.

Die cut the presents using different pieces of design paper and place below the tree
.
The Garden Notes Carolina Window & Shutters die was used to die cut the window.  It was die cut using white card stock and lightly sponged with Tea Dye Distress Ink, around the edges.   I used a piece of design paper from my stash to cut out the Santa and attached it behind the window, attaching the window with dimensional tape over the Santa.

Add  Sentiment Stickers and Corners to complete card.

Have fun decorating your Christmas Tree.

Pretty Pansies

I always smile when I see pansies.  They are such dainty flowers and come in a large variety of colors.  These pansies were created with Susan's Garden Notes Pansy dies that will be out soon in a new release from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  There are three die cuts to create this flower, which make these pansies super easy to create. Don't you think they look real!

The tag die I used is the ECD Tags and More Lattice 8. The base tag was die cut using vanilla card stock.  The design paper was die cut then die cut a second time with the lattice design.  Green card stock was glued behind the openings of the lattice.  A strip of the same green card stock was cut and glued to the bottom of the design paper.  I wanted a small corner so die cut the edge of the top portion of the lattice die, then glued the small die cut triangles just above the green strip. I thought this gave it a nice finishing touch.

The vase die used is the Asian Vase.  The backing was die cut using the same green card stock and the design part of the vase was die cut using vanilla card stock.  A little Tea Dye Distress Ink was sponged on the vase.

At the bottom of the tag I used Susan's new Happiness Comes from Within stamp.  Green twine was added to the top of the tag.

Susan's new release will be out soon.  The other products used from Elizabeth Craft Designs are linked below:

Purple Poinsettias

We all know that poinsettias do not come in purple, but I have several friends who love purple so have created this Christmas card in their favorite color.  Soon, I  will be posting many more projects with poinsettias that are real colors to give you many more ideas for your cards/projects.

I always look forward to creating my Christmas cards because I love to create beautiful poinsettias for them.  These poinsettias were made with Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia dies. Susan's Whitepine Bough & Pine Cone dies create a gorgeous embellishment to go with the poinsettias.  I used the new Quietfire Merry Christmas die for the Sentiment.  There are 12 beautiful Quietfire sentiments available right now from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Here is a closeup to show you how realistic Susan's Pine cones look.

Susan Tierney-Cockburn has a lot of new Christmas dies that will be released very soon from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I will let you know when they are available for purchase.

Woodland Leaves Wreath

Susan Tierney-Cockburn's dies can be used for so many beautiful projects. I think we all love the gorgeous colors of Fall leaves.  I knew Susan's Garden Woodland Leaves would be beautiful on a wreath for my home.  All of the leaves in the set were die cut using white card stock then colored with Distress Inks.  I used a hot glue gun to attach them to a Styrofoam wreath.  For fillers,  I used Elizabeth Craft Curvy Leaves and the ECD Berry Branch.  For the berries, I used Viva Orange Paper Pen.  The pretty flowers were created with the new Susan's Garden Notes - Chrysanthemum dies. For additional Fall foliage, I collected acorns that recently fell from a tree in our neighborhood.   A large bow was made with a piece of ribbon from my stash.

Susan's new Woodland Leaves and Chrysanthemum dies will be available soon from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Happy Fall Ya'll

Isn't Fall a wonderful time of year - it is filled with beautiful colors, scarecrows, pumpkins, apples, etc.  Susan Tierney-Cockburn's new CountryScape dies helps us create some of the things we love most about this season.

This is a 6x6 inch card.  In the background I used Susan's new CountryScapes Clouds & Grass dies.  The cloud die cut and used as a stencil; the grass die was used to sponge on grass in the background and also used as actual die cut grass for the lower portion.  You get dual use out of these dies for the perfect background!

Behind the scarecrow I die cut the CountryScapes New England Stone Wall.  This die set also has a die for a gate, but I did not use it on this card.  This fence has a background stamp, plus a die to cut out out the bricks, which gives it such a realistic look.

The scarecrow, Jack-o-lanterns, and bales of hay are dies from the CountryScapes Build A Scarecrow die set.  It is fun to use design paper to dress your scarecrow.  The apple tree, basket of apples and sign were die cut using the CountryScapes Backyard 3 Apple Orchard dies.  The crow is from the CountryScapes Critters 1 set and the bats are from the CountryScapes Critters 4 set.  All the little yellow flowers were die cut from the CountryScapes Backyard 1 set.

It is so fun to start out with a very simple idea then by looking at the pictures that come on Susan's die packages, you can see items, from a variety of sets, that would add additional interest and really tell a story.  You can add just a few or many different die cuts to create a very pretty scene.

Most of us struggle to create masculine cards, and by using Susan's CountryScapes dies, it is easy to create cards anyone would love to receive.

Be sure to watch Elizabeth Craft Designs for the announcement of all Susan's new dies, later this month.

Winter Scene

This is a preview of a few more new dies in Susan's CountryScapes collection that will be available from Elizabeth Craft Designs later this month.  I used a combination of two new die sets with some of the die sets currently available from ECD.

I used the new CountryScapes Woods 4 die to create this tree.   In the upper right corner is a little garland that was created with dies from the new CountryScapes Snow & Garland Backyard 4 die set.  The deer is a die from Susan's 1013 CountryScapes Critters 3 die set.  The red cardinal and little snow bunny are from the 989 CountryScapes Critters 1 die set.

In this photo, for something a little different,  I added some ECD Silver Peel Off Sticker SnowFlakes, and changed the corners to silver to match.

Have you subscribed to the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog for new updates?  Also, the new products for the next released are being posted now on the Elizabeth Craft Designs FaceBook page.

All the new dies in Susan's new release will be available, in a few weeks, from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

New Dies for the Holidays

Today I have a preview of a couple of the new Christmas die sets by Susan Tierney-Cockburn.  The poinsettias were die cut using the Garden Notes - Poinsettia set.  As with all Susan's flowers in the Garden Notes sets, these flowers are small enough to fit perfect on your holiday cards. Elizabeth Craft Designs also has a new line of Suzanne Cannon's Quietfire Sentiment dies.  One of these beautiful sentiments is used on this card.

I am really excited to show you this beautiful Pine Bough.  It is hard to believe this isn't  real!  This was created with Susan's Garden Notes White Pine Boughs & Pinecone dies.  I know this is a die set you will love using for your holiday cards.

These new products will be available later this month from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Thank you for stopping by.  I will continue to show you Susan's new die sets so you can start your Wish List.

The Pumpkin Patch

Today, Elizabeth Craft Designs is introducing Susan Tierney-Cockburn's new release of Fall and Christmas, CountryScapes, Garden Notes, and Susan's Garden dies which will be available later this month.    Autumn is just around the corner and Susan has dies to create beautiful cards for this season.   Today my card is designed using CountryScapes Flora 4 and CountryScapes Woods 3.

This is a 6"x6" card.  In this release, Susan has a new Cloud and Grass die.  This is a die set you will use a lot.  You can use the dies to cut stencils out of either card stock or acetate to create beautiful backgrounds, and/or you can use the die cuts for actual die cut clouds and/or grass.  I created a stencil and sponged blue ink on the top of this card to create clouds in the sky.  Next I die cut the grass and used one part to sponge on green grass below the sky, then used the other side of the the die cut for actual dimensional grass.

The cornstalk die, from the Flora 4 - Sunflower set, was used to cut 6 cornstalks. The tops of some of the cornstalks was cut between each point to create corn silk.  The stalks were tied together with thread to form the stack.  The sunflowers and pumpkins are also in the Flora 4 die set.  The wheelbarrow is a die in the Woods 3 set.  I die cut four rows of grass from the Clouds/Grass die set and glued to together, off setting the blades of grass.  They were glued to the bottom section of the card.  The cornstalks, pumpkins, wheelbarrow and sunflowers were glued behind the grass.  The wheelbarrow set also includes small leaves.  A few pumpkins were glued in the wheelbarrow then some of of the small leaves glued around the base of the pumpkins.

One of Susan's new "Seeds of Thought" stamps was used inside one of the ECD Peel Off Sticker Frames.

Keep visiting my blog to see more of the new dies that will be available later this month.
