Joan's Gardens Weekly Challenge

Boy, the week sure has gone by fast.  It is time for a new challenge at Joan's Gardens.  I want to let you know that I think all your projects with the recycled boxes have been fantastic.  It sure is a good thing the winner is always selected by a random drawing, because it would sure be hard to pick a winner.   Thanks to all of you for joining us in our weekly challenges - we really love to see all your entries.

This week we want you to design an Easter Card with a bunny.  Please go over to Joan's Gardens to get the other requirements for this challenge and to see what the prize is for this week.

I started with the Marianne (DS0916) Cut and Emboss folder.  I love this embossing folder because the cut design is at one end so it gives you a lot of room to add other elements without covering up any of the cut design.  I used a piece of aqua design paper from my "scrap" box for the left side.  The bunnies were die cut using the Cheery Lynn "Spring Basket 1" (DL214) die.  This die has a beautiful basket and in the open area under the handle there is also this cute bunny.  You could use a small piece of card stock if you want to  just die cut the bunny, but I die cut both the basket and bunny three times and have saved the baskets for future use.  The edges of the bunnies were sponged with gray ink to help make them stand out.  Did you notice the "pom pom" I added to each tail?   A small black Kaiser Craft Pearl was added to each eye.

The border under the bunnies is the Cheery Lynn "Carnivale" (DL129) die.  The pretty flourish up the side is the new Cheery Lynn "Mini Flourish One" (B170).  There are two different sizes you can purchase, and this is the smaller one.  Over the flourish I added some of the smallest daisies from the Cheery Lynn "Darling Daisies" (A196) die.  Kaiser Craft Rhinestones were added to the center of each flower.  The Heartfelt Creations Sentiment was stamped and die cut using the Spellbinders "Ribbon Banners" die.  It was sponged around the edges.  To finish the card I added some small butterflies and flower rhinestones.

I hope you will create an Easter card this week and join us in our challenge at Joan's Gardens.  Remember, all the weekly winners will be put in the drawing for the $100 Gift Certificate to Joan's Gardens at the end of the year.   Go over to Joan's Gardens blog for all the challenge details and to submit your entry.

Saw your card at Joan's blog. Of course, all the die cuts are gorgeous (as usual) but what really caught my eye this week was the color -- love it!!
