A Masculine Card

From time to time we need to create a masculine card.  Joan sent me a set from "Our Craft Lounge" called "Fishing With Dad".  I don't feel I am very good at creating cards where I need to do a lot of sponging but felt that is what this card needed.  The trees and fisherman were stamped using VersaFine Ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Using a stamp from Heartfelt Creations, the clouds were stamped with VersaMark Ink and clear embossed.  Using sponge daubers, the different colors were sponged around the images.  I used both large and small sponge daubers.  The larger sponge daubers give a smoother coverage for larger areas. The detail in the clouds does not show up well in the photo but they do look very realistic. 

A Penny Black stamp set I received from Joan's Gardens last year, called "Enjoy Life", was used for the bushes down on the bottom corners.   The sentiment is from the JustRite "You Inspire Me" stamp set and the tag is also from JustRite called "Grommet Tags".  There are three pretty tags in this set.   The fish from the "Fishing With Dad" set was stamped, colored with Copic markers, cut out with scissors and attached on the tag with dimensionals.

This stamp set from Our Craft Lounge has six image stamps and six sentiments and will be perfect for some of those masculine cards you need to make.

Springtime

It is beautiful outside today even though it is still chilly out.  My tulips are definitely coming up so wanted to design a springtime card today.  I used three different stamps sets.  The bunny and basket are from Heartfelt Creations.  This stamp is "Bunny Bouquet" 778E,  The butterfly is from the "Nature's Note" set  and the sentiment is from "In Flight", both sets from Our Craft Lounge.  In case you can't read it the sentiment says "Just living is not enough said the Butterfly.  One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little Flower" by Hans Christian Anderson.

The lavender pendent was die cut with the new Spellbinders "Parisian Motifs" and the border along the top edge is from the "Parisian Accents" die cut set.  The sentiment was stamped on white card stock and cut out with the Spellbinders "Big Scallop Circles" die.  The Heartfelt bunny and basket were stamped, colored with Copic markers, and cut out with scissors.  The butterfly was white embossed on vellum and colored on the back and cut out.  Lavender Vellum flowers were created with the Martha Stewart "Hydrangea Punches".  All the elements were arranged on the card then four very small vellum flowers were made to put in the basket and one in front of it, to give the card more dimension.

Granny's Truffles

Today I am switching gears; I worked with a new set I just received from Joan's Gardens called "Granny's Truffles" by Our Craft Lounge.   Joan loves this set and I'm hoping she loves the card I created with it.   She recently posted a lot of new stamp sets from Our Craft Lounge I'm sure you will want to see, so be sure to check out her blog
  
Isn't this image cute!   This is exactly what my daughter would say, because she LOVES chocolate so much!    The background was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The new Spellbinders "Fleur De Lis Rectangle" pendant was die cut and attached to the card.  The sentiment was stamped in black ink.  The images were stamped and colored using Copic Markers then cut out and attached with dimensional tape.  Glitter was added to the jewelry and ribbon on the candy box.   A few flowers, made with the small "Blossom Punch", were added to the corner,  along with a Sizzix die cut branch of leaves. 

This was a quick and easy card to create, and I'm sure would be loved by any one loving chocolate.  Hope you like it.

We are having a beautiful day and hopefully it will continue.   I think I can see the tulips peeking out of the ground.  Maybe Spring is just around the corner.   Hope you have a great weekend.
  

Happy Holidays

I am getting a real good start on completing all my Christmas cards.  Here is one I made using stamps from "Tweet Winter Wishes" by Our Craft Lounge.  I created a scene using the snowman, the fence with the birds, and the smallest snowflake from this set.  The pine tree is from Rubber Stampede.

The images are clear rubber stamps so they are very easy to create a scene with.  I first stamped the snowman then the fence.  The images were colored with Copic markers.  I used Sahara Sand to stamp the snowflakes.  I usually use black ink but like the lighter look using this ink.  I used one of the long rectangle Nestabilities to cut out the image.  The SU greeting was stamped on white CS and a ticket punch used on each corner.  Both pieces were then attached to some aqua colored shiny cardstock that matches the aqua in the background paper.  The tree was stamped in black ink and colored with Copic markers then cut out.  It was mounted using dimensionals.  Polar White Flower Soft was added to the scene then some aqua rhinestone completed the card.

You Are Snow Wonderful

Hope you had a wonderful weekend. I had a lot going on and did not have time to do much stamping. This morning I got to spend time with my DD. We went over to Idaho to have lunch at a highly recommended restaurant. It was very good, then we spent some time shopping. Always love to spend time with my daughter.

I recently found this cute snowman stamp by Stampington & Company called Heart of Snow in a little shop near me. As I have told you before, I love snowmen so it was impossible not to buy this one. The tag was made with some stamps from a cute set from Our Craft Lounge, "Tweet Winter Wishes". I haven't made any cards with this set yet, but it is so cute and I'm looking forward to using it.

The designer paper is from a Christmas pad I purchased last year from a craft store. The snowman was stamped and colored with Copic markers. Since the background paper is in the brown's, I decided to make the background out of ivory card stock. It was cut out with a petite oval Nestability then mounted on a brown scalloped mat. The border was punched with a SU punch. My DH and DD were disagreeing on what color this border should be. My DD thought it should be the turquoise color. I actually tried that but thought it took away from the overall design so stuck with the brown.

After putting the design together, I thought it would be cute to add some Polar White Flower Soft for the snow. I purchased this from Joan's Gardens. I embossed the vanilla background with the Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug embossing folder then added dots of Flower Soft glue to each dot and sprinkled with the Flower Soft so it would look like snow. There is also Flower Soft snow beneath the snowman and on the bottom of the tag.

The tag was cut with a Nestability. It was sponged lightly before removing it. I wanted it mounted so attached it to some brown card stock and just cut around it with scissors. It's not perfect but looks better mounted. I used a brad to attach the brown grosgrain ribbon to the end.

You've Been Boo'd

Aren't these the cutest little ghosts! They remind me of Casper the Ghost. These stamps are from "Our Craft Lounge" and the set is called "Ghostly Greetings".
The card base is 5" x 7". There is a layer of Pumpkin Pie card stock then a piece of black and white polka dot designer paper (I don't know the name of the company). The images were stamped with Memento black ink then colored with Copic markers. The moon stamp has some little stars around it but since I wanted to cut it out, I cut off the stamped stars and used a Martha Stewart border punch to get more stars. A Cuttlebug corner was cut out for the upper left corner. The sentiment was stamped then cut out with an oval Nestability and sponged prior to taking it out of the die. A paper piercing tool was used to punch holes around in each scallop.

All images are attached with dimensional tape. The corner was run through a small Xyron sticker machine so the entire thing would stick down. The buttons were added using Glue Dots. Some green grosgrain ribbon was added to the bottom of the card then a piece of green rick rack added on top. I wanted to ground the little ghost holding the jack-o-lantern so tried to make it look like grass under him. The rick rack was also run through the Xyron sticker machine so it would stick. A piece of tied black grosgrain ribbon was added with a glue dot to the upper corner button and black twine added to the lower buttons. A few black pearls were added to complete the card. Oh, I forgot to say that yellow Stickles was added to the jack-o-lantern's face, the mouths of the ghosts and to the moon and stars.

Thankful For You

Isn't this a cute image! This card was made using the new "Autumn Garden" stamp set from Our Craft Lounge. As soon as I saw this set, I knew I had to have it.

To start with, I stamped the fence on a piece of white card stock. On a scrap, I stamped the scarecrow and cut him out. I used Copic markers to color. The sky and grass were sponged on using ink. The scarecrow is mounted with dimensionals. The flowers are brought to life by adding lavender Flower Soft. I purchased this from Joan's Gardens.

The piece on the upper left hand corner was made by stamping the leaf (from SU) with VersaMark on Glossy card stock then embossed with Detail Clear Embossing Powder. I then used sponge daubers to add fall colors over the piece. The Chocolate Chip background was "half" embossed using the Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder. The main image and the leaf piece were matted with Basic Black card stock.

The Thankful For You verse is from the Autumn Garden set. I used petite oval Nestabilities to cut two scalloped frames. The top piece was pierced in each scallop. The main image was mounted with dimensionals. A yellow Prima Flower and some rhinestones were added to complete the card.

This card makes me smile. I love all the dimension on it.

I wanted to let you know that Shannon's baby card was a very big hit at the baby shower yesterday. Everyone was very impressed with her work.
