With Love

Today I made a card for a very special friend that lives in the Netherlands.  Eva is a friend I met through my blog and we have been very good friends for about four years.  Eva recently sent me some packages of Foamiran and I wanted to create this pretty English Rose with the white Foamiran.  

This is a 6-inch square card.  For the front I used a piece of the Tonic Studios Moonlight Rose 6x6 Mirror Card stock.  For the die cut design in the upper right, I used a die from the Tonic Monthly Craft Kit #21.  I highly recommend these Tonic Craft Kits.  You can order them on a monthly basis, or a quarterly subscription. The value of the kits is around $70 and you pay much less. The links are below so you can get all the information about the kits.  

Behind the die cut opening in the Moonlight Rose Mirror Card Stock, I used a piece of the Tonic Craft Perfect Speciality Card, Luxury Embossed Ivory Toile card stock.  It doesn't show up well in the photo, but there are beautiful embossed roses in this card stock, which look beautiful with the English Rose.

The flower was created with Susan's Garden Notes English Rose die set.  Only the three petal dies were used.  Die cut 8 to 10 layers depending on how large you want the rose,using white Foamiran.  I used Nuvo Victorian Blush Embellishment Mousse to color the base of six layers and the rest of the petals were left white.  This Mousse was one of the items in the Tonic Craft Kit #25.  Use a small cosmetic sponge to apply the color to the Foamiran.   The petals were heated by placing them quickly on a hot craft iron, then shaped.  A glue gun was used to glue the layers together.  

The die cut design behind the rose is a die from Sizzix.  I did not see a name on the package.  A butterfly was die cut from a butterfly die from my stash, and added over one of the die cut butterflies in the Sizzix design.  This added some dimension above the rose.

The sentiment is a die that was in the Tonic Craft Kit 25.  Glue was added to the back of the die cut using the Nuvo Smooth Precision Glue Pen.

Foamiran Bouquet

My sweet friend Eva from the Netherlands sent me some packages of Foamiran to make flowers with.  She also sent me design paper, which I used on the front of this card.  The dies used to die cut the flowers, leaves and fern include Susan's Garden Rose 1, Garden Notes Pansy and Maidenhair Fern. Susan's Garden Notes die sets work great to die cut petals for any of the flowers you would like to create with Foamiran.

The Sentiment 1 - Celebrate Clear Stamp Set and matching dies were used for the sentiment.

Foamiran Poppies

Today I wanted to work with Susan's Garden Notes Poppy die set to create five small poppies for a 6x6 card. 

 I wanted to see if I could create these poppies using orange Formiran.  Five poppies were die cut.  The base of the petals were sponged with a dark orange and a little black PanPastel.  

Behind the Poppies, I used a piece of Formiran and the ModaScrap Leaves 1 die set.  Eight Leaves were die cut, shaped and attached behind the Poppies for a fuller background.  

Two Ovals were die cut - one Stitched Oval and one Fitted Oval.  The Fitted Oval is slightly smaller.  They were glued together and attached to the card front using dimensional tape.  

Use the Els van de Burgt Studio Corners 1 die set and die cut two corners for the top of the card.  Save the little dots that you punch out of the corners for use around the Poppy arrangement.

Once the Leaf 1 die cuts were attached to the left side of the oval frame, the Poppies were attached.  For a "filler" around the arrangement, glue the dots from the die cut Corners around as shown.  Use a small marker and add some small dots around the leaves.  Save three dots to glue under the sentiment.

Use the Els van de Burgt Studio "Smile" die set for the sentiment.  Attach it to the lower right corner.  Glue three of the dots (from the Corner die cuts) under the sentiment.

Yellow/Pink Foamiran Rose

I hope you are enjoying your holiday weekend.  Today I have a card with another rose I created using Foamiran.  I purchase my Foamiran from Scrap and Craft in Ireland.  At Elizabeth Craft Designs you will find a large selection of the Susan's Garden Club flower dies that can be used to die cut the Foamiran for beautiful flowers.  The petals were die cut using white Foamiran then colored using Susan's PanPastels. Susan has three different sets of PanPastels available at Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Links are below.  The PanPastels blend so well on the foam for a very natural appearance.   Susan's 4 pc Flower Tool Kit was used to help shape the petals and the Leaf Tool and Pad used to draw the details on the green leaves.The leaves were die cut using a light green Foamiran.  The detail was drawn on then were sponged using a dark green PanPastel .  A little dark red PanPastel was sponged around the edges of the leaves.

For the card I used Els van de Burgt Studio Dotted Scallop Circle die set.  In the upper corner, two ModaScrap Romantic Corner die cut corners were added.

Foamiran Lilac

Today I have a card I designed using Foamiran to create a lilac  I used white Foamiran and colored a strip of it using  PanPastels.  I used two shades of purple PanPastels to give the petals some dimension. You can use a dark purple and sponge some white over it to achieve a light purple.  The PanPastels blend very well   The small flowers were die cut,  heated then attached to a branch created with card stock. The die I used is old and no longer available.  Two branches were die cut and a floral wire attached over the top of one branch, using  Clear Double Sided Adhesive.  The same adhesive was attached to the back of the second branch and attached over the wired branch.  This gave the card stock branch more stability and could be shaped (bent) because of the wire inside it.  The leaves for the lilac were colored using two shades of green PanPastels and dark red PanPastel. 

The framed background for the lilac was die cut using Dotted Scallop Ovals and Stitched Ovals.  The butterflies were die cut using the Dancing Butterfly die set. 

Foamiran Poinsettia

I know it is early to start Christmas cards, but I like to get an early start!  Today I used Susan's Garden Notes Poinsettia die set and and Foamiran to create this pretty flower.  I die cut the petals and shaded the red foamiran using Susan's Dark Red PanPastel, which is in Set 3.  The leaves were colored with a dark green PanPastel and blended with green in Susan's Set 1.  A little red was also added.  PanPastels blend so easily, and are my very favorite way to color Foamiran.  NOTE:  In the photos the Poinsettia leaves do not look very green, but they do in real life! The bracts (center of the poinsettia) were created with dots of Bottle Green and English Mustard Nuvo Crystal Dots.

Under the Poinsettia, Boughs from Susan's  Garden Notes Whitepine Boughs & Pinecone die set were added.  I used two large and two small boughs.

The frame for the poinsettia was die cut using Els van de Burgt Studio Dotted Scallop Ovals.  

The sentiment was die cut using the A Way With Word - Peace die set.

Gold Peel Off Sticker - Corner/Line Stickers were used to outline the design paper edge.  Left over "dots" from a Peel Off Sticker sheet was used to go around the flower.

It is never too early to get started working on Christmas cards.  The holidays always seem to come so fast.

Second Foamiran Rose

I have created my second rose using Foamiran.  This material shapes beautifully when creating flowers.  The Foamiran I used was purchased from ScrapandCraft.

You can use any of Susan's Garden Club flower die sets to create beautiful flowers using the Foamiran.  I have always liked to die cut Susan's flower petals using white -- whether it is card stock or Foamiran.  I have tried many different products to color the flower petals and leaves, and by far, I LOVE to use Susan's PanPastels.  They are so easy to blend and always give me perfect results.  Pictured below are the three sets available from Elizabeth Craft Designs.

This is a 6-inch card.  Choose a piece of design paper of your choice for the background.  Use the Els van de Burgt Studio Entwinded Circles, Dotted Scallop Ovals and Fitted Ovals die sets to create the frame for the rose.  The little flourishes and tiny flowers on the Entwined Circles are discards from the ModaScrap Flower Lace 2 die cut.  The sentiment was die cut using the Love Sentiments die set.
