I have had a very busy day. This morning I needed to clean up my stamp room then had to leave for most of the day. When I came home, my granddaughter Shannon, who just turned 12, asked if she could come over and make a baby card. Since I have not had time to stamp today, I asked her if it would be ok if I post her card on my blog and she was happy for me to do that.
Shannon loves Melanie's stamp set "Wee Tees" and asked to use it. I pulled out other baby stamps but she went over and pulled out Melanie's set. She knew I had used that set for my baby card (which I have already posted), but she assured me her card would be different. She knew exactly what she wanted on it. She decided to do paper piecing. She found some designer paper in the color she really liked and made the above card. She is so cute because she is very familiar with my stamp room and started going through all the containers with buttons, brads, and other embellishments. She found the things she liked then looked for a Cuttlebug folder she thought would be good for her baby card. The folder she used is called "With Love". Shannon totally did this card on her own. She is as hooked on the Cuttlebug folders and the Nestabilities as I am. She used the petite oval nestabilities and the petite circle Nesties for the background for the hand. She even embossed the frames. She really wanted something for the lower left and corner. She had a hard time deciding what to do. She found the baby feet punch. She had a hard time getting it to punch out on the Sky Blue card stock. The only thing I did for her was use a sponge dauber and added some SkyBlue ink to a piece of computer paper so the punch would work. She was delighted with that. The reason she has a "C" on the tag is because the baby's name will be "Cooper".
It is always a joy to have Shannon come over to stamp. She is such a neat little girl. She always gets up and puts everything away and leaves my stamp room nice and tidy.
I think she did an excellent job designing and completing this card. I'm sure the new mom will love it. I will be going to the Baby Shower with her tomorrow.

Selma tell Shannon that I think she did a FABULOUS job on this card. And how lucky are you to get to craft with your granddaughter.
Selma & Shani,
You have become such a wonderful little stamper. I remember when you came to the workshops that your Gramma had at her house, and you made a sign to greet us everytime that said "WELCOME STAMPERS" I knew right then that you someday would be as good as your Gramma, and sweetie you are very creative, and I could see you on a design team someday in the future. Keep up the wonderful work, this card is just as cute as can be....great job.
