Under the Sea

My granddaughter, Shannon, came over this morning and said she needed to make a thank you card for her cousins, who live by the ocean. She had some "ocean" ideas that she was playing with. She got really excited when she found this designer paper because it looks like water. She thought this was the perfect paper to go with the Sea Horse from Gina's Eclectic Summer Showtime Stamp Kit and decided it would be fun to use Melanie's Inspiration Mosaic stamp for the background.

She stamped the sea horse using the Kaleidacolor Caribbean Sea ink pad. She cut it out and added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The Inspiration Mosaic was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with Detail White Embossing Powder. The greeting is from the same set and was also white embossed.

The sea horse was mounted with dimensional tape. She found some green velvet rick rack and thought it would make good sea weed since I didn't have that kind of stamp. I wasn't sure it would work, but she played with it and I think it looks great. She has a great eye for designing. It was attached with Scor-Tape. The three sea shells and rhinestones were added to complete the card.

  4. Selma & Shani,

Well, Shani really has an eye for the perfect background paper to use on her cards, and the use of rickrack was perfect for the seaweed look.

    Very cute card Shani.
