Thinking of You

Winter is just around the corner.  I love the new Winter die sets from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  Here is a card that could be used for any occasion.  Here is how the card was created:

1.  Start with a 6-inch card.
2.  Use a piece of light blue card stock, cut 5 1/2 inches square, to create the mountain scene. Using Susan's Mountain & Split Rail Stencil to add the mountain.  Tape stencil to the left side of the card stock and press VersaMark through stencil.  Move stencil over to the left and add one more mountain to create a mountain range.  White emboss.
3.  Use Susan's CountryScapes Mountains die set and die cut two landscapes, using Soft Finish White Cardstock.  Layer as shown.
4.  Use the Adventure Edges die set and die cut the cloud border, which will be added at the bottom of the card.
5.  Use the Reindeer die set and die cut one deer.  Sponge on Distress inks to color.  Use a fine tip marker to color in nose, eye, and hoofs.
6. There are trees in the Reindeer die set, but I chose to use the beautiful tree in the  Christmas Tree Die Set. Die cut on the backing for this tree and sponge on green ink leaving the bottom of each tree section white.  Assemble the tree by adding dimensional tape under each layer.
7.  To assemble the card, start by layering the CountryScapes Mountains over the embossed mountains.
8.  Add the die cut snow that was die cut from the Adventures Edges.
9.  Use the Kids Glue and dilute it a little with water, and add glue to the mountain tops, snow banks, and the edges of the tree branches.  Sprinkle on Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  Once the glue is dry, rub the glitter with your fingers to bring on the sparkle.
10.  Add the tree to the left of the Reindeer.
11.  Die cut a lot of snowflakes using the die in the Reindeer die set.  Add glue, and Cool Diamond Glitter to the snowflakes.  Add snowflakes around the scene.
12.  Any sentiment can be added to this winter scene, but I chose to use a sentiment from the General Sentiments clear stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Have fun creating your Winter cards.
