You're So Sweet

This is the time of year when we see a lot of pansies.  Today I have designed a card using Susan's Garden Notes Pansy dies with her new Garden Notes Bouquet Stems & Branches dies.  The Pansies were die cut using a Rosebud Soft Finish Cardstock.  A wine colored marker was used to draw the lines from the center of each petal, except the two petals that are at the top.  Susan's PanPastels were used to add hot pink color to the center of each petal then Susan's White PanPastel was brushed around the outside edge of each petal, to lighten the tips.  I love using PanPastels because they are opaque and cover well.  If you don't like the color where you have added it, you can easily use an eraser to remove any unwanted color.  Adding the PanPastel really added "texture" to each petal.

Prills - Bloomy Day
Once the flowers were created, I added a few Yellow Prills from Susan's new Bloomy Day Prills collection.  These Pansies look so realistic!

I wanted to create a 5"x7" card, so I used Els van de Burgt Studio Dotted Scallop Rectangle and Stitched Rectangles dies to create a delicate frame.  The center Stitched Rectangle was embossed using the Swirly Curves Embossing Folder.   All die cut frames were attached using dimensional tape between layers.   Along the edges of the card, one of Els new Bead Strings 2 dies was used for the outside border along the green gingham design paper.

Garden Notes Bouquet Stems & Branches

To create the Pansy bouquet, the stems were die cut using the new Garden Notes Bouquet Stems & Branches die set.  The bow, to hold the Bouquet together, was die cut from the Garden Notes Lavender die set.

The stems were attached, at an angle, to the embossed frame, at the lower right hand corner, then the Pansies attached, using glue dots.  The leaves were glued behind the flowers.

To finish the card, the (perfect) sentiment from Joset Designs General Sentiments Clear Stamp set, was stamped on white cardstock, using VersaFine Black Ink. I used scissors to cut closely around the stamped image.  It was glued to the frame.

Hi Selma,
This time I write an comment too late, but I like this beautiful card with the lovely pansies soooo much, that I want it to let you know!!
I also LOVE the way how you create the centers of the pansies with the new Susan's Prills. Great!! It seems so fun to work with the Prills.
I hope that the Bloomy Day Prills collection will be available in the Netherlands soon.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day, Eva.
