Susan's Garden Mini Petals

You all have heard me talk about my dear friend Pat, so I thought today I would show you a picture of her and plus the birthday card I created for her and the rose created to go on her birthday present.  I apologize that I did not take very good pictures to share with you. At the last minute,  I was in a hurry to take pictures of the card and package before Pat came over to open her present.  I took her out to lunch and then we went shopping.  We had to end the lovely day going to get her favorite "treat", a giant chocolate covered ice cream bar covered with toasted almonds.  We had such a fun day.

I used a piece of design paper from the Webster's Pages Spring Market paper pack for the background on this card. The card is 5.5" x 6".  As I have done many times, I like to create flowers that match those in the design paper, so I used the dies from Susan's Gardens "Mini Petals" to create little roses the same colors and approximately the same size as in the design paper . I love creating these very small flowers; they are so easy to shape with the Susan's Garden Flower Tool Kit.  I used Susan's Garden "Pan Pastel Ultra Soft Artists' Painting Pastels" to add some color to the pink and white roses.  The cute bird cage is a Tim Holtz Idea-ology metal bird cage.  The cage has a removable back, so I cut a piece of matching design paper to go inside the cage.  The bird was die cut using a die from the Heartfelt Creation "Garden Romance Collection" dies.  It was colored blue to match the bird in the design paper.  It was attached with "Crafter's Pick Ultimate Glue" to the metal; this is the same glue I use to create my flowers. The birthday sentiment was die cut using the Cheery Lynn "Mix and Match Card Sentiments".  The sentiment pieces were attached with "E6000" Spray Adhesive.  I forgot to take a picture of the inside of the card.

Here is a picture of my friend Pat.  We spend one day a week working on different craft projects.

This is a picture of the rose I created for the top of her gift box.  It was created with the Susan's Garden "Rose" dies. These dies always create the most beautiful roses! The flourish below it was die cut using one of the Heartfelt Creations "Bella Rose dies". The doily below the flower is the Cheery Lynn "Mega Polynesian Sail" die.  The gift box was large enough to accommodate this 7.5" wide doily.   To finish it off I added a pretty silk bow
