You're Sweet

Today I needed a small box for a gift for my granddaughter.  I used a pattern purchased  at "My Time Made Easy".  The name of this box is "Under Cover". It is so simple to make it took very little time and I just love how it turned out.  I think she might like the box more than the little gift.

The box is made with a piece of Martha Stewart double-sided paper.  The pattern is only two pieces so was very easy to make.  I used a scalloped Nestability oval to create the opening in the top.  I then used a smaller oval and a shade darker cs to create a little frame under the scallops.  It was attached with Scor-Tape on the inside before completing the top.  I didn't want an open hole so used a piece of acetate to cover the hole.  I did some recyclying . . . I used some of the acetate that a set of Nestabilities came in.  It was also attached with Scor-Tape.

I used my Scor-Pal to score all lines on the top and bottom pieces of this box, then used Scor-tape to hold it together.  When you are doing something like this, you want to make sure you are using a strong adhesive because you sure don't want it to fall apart.

To decorate my box I added some daisies and leaves made with a MS punch.  A couple of short strips of dotted Swiss ribbon was gathered at one end and tucked in under the flowers.  The verse was stamped and cut out with an oval Nestabilitiy and sponged prior to taking it out of the die.  Each scallop was pierced to give it a frilly look.  Three small butterflies were punched and added along with some pearls.  I am really excited about how cute this box is and was so happy it really was done very quickly.

Hope you check out the cute patterns Lauren has.  I have made four different boxes from Lauren's templates  and each one has been very fun to create.

Selma,

What a cute little gift box. I love the colors, they are "Springy". So is the gift for Alison, or Shannon, or your out of town granddaughter, Alexandria? Whoever receives this little box will surely love it.
