Peaches and Cream

Theresa Momber posted a Color Challenge on StampTV. You must go look at her beautiful card here. She has designed a new set called "Timeless Treasures". I do not have this set yet, but isn't her card beautiful. The color challenge is to use Peach and Ivory. I love these colors together so decided to submit a card in this challenge.

I decided to use Gina's "Take Flight" butterfly. I know I use this set a lot. I do love this butterfly. I used a piece of parchment paper and used a coral chalk ink to stamp the butterfly. I didn't use Vellum -- there is a difference between parchment paper and vellum. After stamping it, it looked "wet" so I decided to emboss it with clear, detail embossing powder. Usually chalk ink dries really quick but maybe because I used parchment paper it stayed wet enough to emboss. Anyway, it worked perfect for me. I just realized, I didn't color on this card!

I used a scrap piece of designer paper for the background which had the perfect colors for this project. I used Melanie's "Arranged With Love" set for the verse. I think the verse, and font, are perfect for this card. The frame was cut with the Nestabilities "classic" frame. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the border and tied a bow around it. I decided to add some layered Prima flowers and pearls to finish it off. I love the delicate look of this card.

Now I need to go add it to my StampTV page and into the challenge. Thanks for visiting my blog. I always love to read your comments.

Selma, I just love your card. Thank you too for always telling everyone the steps you used to create it. The butterfly (as all of them are) is especially gorgeous using parchment paper.

Your card is absolutely gorgeous Selma. I see that you are really into using vellum on your cards now. I need to start using it too.
